One of my 1st memories is an LSU basketball game. I remember because I also developed pink eye while at it. My parents had season tickets to the big 3 at LSU growing up. When they moved to Memphis they started the LSU alumni chapter up there in the late 80's. From that point on if there was an LSU game going on there was a watch party being held if we couldn't make the trip down.

Earliest game I can remember was LSU Wisconsin in the sweet 16 in 2000. I was 7, still have a mug with 2000 sweet sixteen on it. I've always liked bball more than football though

Growing up in Georgia, my dad was a UGA fan. I remember going to some UGA games when Tubby Smith was coach.
When I went to USC, I started going to games and really enjoying/getting into them. Used to see/work around Dave Odom in the Coliseum. I honestly don't know how some of his teams didn't go to the NCAAs. The initial excitement of the Horn hire fell apart after his first year, so there was some lean time until Martin brought some energy back.

I watched college basketball sporadically in the 70s, but the LSU final four team in 81 got me hooked. Then the Villanova win over Georgetown in the 85 championship game made me a full time fan.

Late 80's early 90's.... MayDay, Big O, Mario Credit, Ron Huery, ....That 1990 Final Four team with it's 40 minutes of hell hooked me to the core. I had been following Arkansas Football since about 1988...Basketball in 1989... Anyway, The revolutionary style of play, swagger, power, and success Nolan brought to Fayetteville made me "buy in" more to the total Arkansas Athletics programs...Hawgball was amazing in the 90's.... It caused me to be more of a passionate fan of football and all of the Hog athletic programs. Football was at a historical low in the 90's and BB was our pride and joy. We always were and always will be a football school, but we still love our basketball...

For me, it was when our gray haired basketball coach wore sport coats made out of the same material that our gray haired football coach was famous for wearing on his head.
