Nowhere near as sad as this stupid post
Well, this trumps LSU angst. A Georgia Tech fan apparently still butthurt about getting run out of the conference by Bear Bryant, over 50 years ago...
Dude, let's clarify something. All of the SEC teams had had enough of Ga. Tech BS and voted not to accept Dodd's ultimatum. It wasn't just Alabama, though Bryant's teams kicking GTs azz over and over is widely thought to have caused GT to flee the conference.
Now I've read everything, seen the elephant... Ga. Tech? You have to be shiteing me...

Didn't Georgia Tech beat Alabama in their penultimate season in the SEC?

Wow. You are one sick motherfricker to blame Bama fans for a mass murder in Lafayette. What the frick is wrong with you? Seriously. To use a mass shooting to try and troll. Nothing a regular Bama poster on this site can ever post something more fricked up than this bullshite. I knew one of the victims and my sister-in-law and her mom were in another theater at the time this happened.
You are the same thing you claim to despise on this website. You are trash.

I don't fricking care. Call me when Alabama has the same academic requirements for athletes as GA Tech, then we can talk.
By the way, GA Tech can beat the shite out of Alabama in almost every other sport so GFY with your Big Bad Alabama chest thump thread. Loser

FACT:
I don't give a good mastodon plop about your stupid opinion.
Alabama should NOT have been in that game. Period.
End of story.
And the reason is simple media bias. Again, and this really IS a fact - SEVEN BCS voters actually DROPPED Oklahoma State to FIFTH OR SIXTH
""""""""""" AFTER """"""""" they won the Big 12 Title - after being all but assured that if they won convincingly over Oklahoma, they would make a VERY strong case (due to their conference title and SOS) to jump Alabama into the #2 slot.
Instead, they got DROPPED to FIFTH OR SIXTH ???????
""""""" THOSE SEVEN VOTES """"""" put Alabama into the BCSNCG, NOT that they were the "better team."
On the final weekend of the regular season, LSU routed Georgia 42-10 to win the SEC championship and clinch a berth in the national title game. A few hours later, Oklahoma State dismantled Oklahoma 44–10 to win the Big 12 title, assuring it of no worse than a bid in the 2012 Fiesta Bowl (which hosts the Big 12 champion unless it finishes in the top two of the BCS rankings). A week earlier, Alabama finished its season with a 42–14 flogging of Auburn. While Oklahoma State had seemingly been eliminated from title contention two weeks earlier, the Cowboys reentered the discussion with their convincing defeat of the Sooners. Ultimately, Oklahoma State had the second-highest computer average, while Alabama finished second in both human polls. The Tide's human-poll lead over the Cowboys was large enough to place them second in the final BCS rankings by only .0086 of a point—the smallest margin between No. 2 and No. 3 in BCS history[53]—sending them to the BCS title game against LSU and locking Oklahoma State into the Fiesta Bowl, in which they beat Stanford 41–38.

Actually, much as I hated it, in 1962 they did win 7-6 against a defending national champion and undefeated Alabama team. This allowed those azzholes to go undefeated and win a NC.
But Bryant's record at Alabama against Dodd was pretty one-sided, and the Darwin Holt/Chick Granning incident was a big deal. To this day I can't stand Georgia Tech. Guess I hold a grudge too long.. much like LSU fans about 1-9. We all have our crosses to "bear."
1964 Alabama 24 - Georgia Tech 7 W
1963 Alabama 27 - Georgia Tech 11 W
1962 Alabama 6 - Georgia Tech 7 L
1961 Alabama 10 - Georgia Tech 0 W
1960 Alabama 16 - Georgia Tech 15 W
1959 Alabama 9 - Georgia Tech 7 W
1958 Alabama 17 - Georgia Tech 8 W

Your stupidity is the gift that keeps on giving. Four years and still going strong.
Here's how stupid you are. You blame it on "media bias". You're too stupid to do just a little basic research and find out that those guys who ranked OSU lower were mostly former coaches and administrators, not media members. And the USA Today poll was all coaches.
...former Iowa administrator George Wine, former Notre Dame wideout Derrick Mayes, former Hawaii coach Bob Wagner, who each had the Cowboys sixth.
Go ahead and admit it...you just aren't very smart, are you?

Who cares about all that BS. Bama was the best team in the nation and they proved it. If there was anyone better than Bama, L5U would have gotten blown out worse than they did. The 2 best teams were in the final...FACT. Bama kick L5U's shite in...DOUBLE FACT. L5U got lucky in the 1st game and Bama proved in in the NCG...TRIPLE FACT. Get over it and move on loser.

Right you are... must be getting old, but I remember that game and Joe Namath throwing about 3 or 4 interceptions, Alabama going for two point conversion to win instead of kicking the extra point to tie (contrast the Notre Dame-Mich State play-for-a-tie game in 1966), and the 7-6 loss. This left Alabama with an 11-1 record and no national championship.
I think so many whiskey bottles were thrown at Bryant in this game that two years later Coach Bryant wore a helmet into the stadium. Oh well... it was a long time ago and college football seemed more important, and fun, then.

That's not the point at all. They very well may have been the best team.
But the facts remain that the BCS computations and calculations that determine teams' BCS rankings were flat out ignored and thrown out the window on Dec. 7, 2011.
Again, Alabama may have been a better team than Oklahoma State, BUT - Oklahoma State was NOT given the same consideration as Alabama was.
One more time - 7 BCS Human Poll Voters and Coaches dropped Oklahoma State from 3rd or 4th to 5th or 6th """"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" A F T E R """""""""""""""""""""""
Oklahoma State destroyed Oklahoma - which was supposed to put OSU over the top and have them jump Alabama - a 3rd place conference team, with a much weaker SOS (2 "supposed" rock-hard criteria for deciding the teams.)
You can talk until your Skoal-brown in the face about 'Alabama was the better team and they proved it', but the fact remains that THOSE SEVEN VOTERS and media bias put Alabama into that game,
""""""""""""""""""" N O T """"""""""""""" the agreed upon BCS criteria, calculations and point system...

Sure they were. All their games counted, especially the pathetic loss to Iowa State after the 9-6 anomaly.
