Bowl Question

Why is everyone so sure about the Sugar Bowl?
If Florida loses to Bama they'll be 10-3 with a win over us. Would they not be the lead candidate for the Sugar bowl bid?
Does momentum help us?
If not sugar, are we looking at Peach again?

The sugar is likely, but I don't think we're a lock at all. It's just going to come down to who the committee thinks should play in the Sugar Bowl.

I think it's because of location. Ole Miss travels incredibly well, we are one state away, while Florida not so much on the traveling.
I think Sugar taking us and Citrus taking Florida sounds like a win/win for both bowls and schools.
Plus, we should be ranked higher than Florida by bowl selection time.

We will be the 2nd highest ranked SEC team in the CFP standings.

I think there's a good chance the committee keeps Florida ahead of us to reward them for winning their division and the head-to-head.

Nothing to do with proximity.
Sugar Bowl is contracted to take the highest ranked SEC team. If that team makes the playoff, they MUST take the second highest ranked SEC team. If Florida loses their collapse at the end of the season combined with poor play and missing QB makes most believe they will fall behind us. We will see.

IIRC, the Sugar Bowl is contractually obligated to take the highest ranked SEC team. If an SEC team is in the playoff, as we assume Alabama will be, then the Sugar Bowl takes the second highest ranked SEC team, which will likely be us.
Hell, the AP Poll already has us ranked ahead of Florida (#16 to #18) and the gap isn't wide in the Coaches Poll (UF is #15 and we are #17).

We should be ranked higher than Florida by bowl selection time.
That's all it will come down to right there

It all depends on the gap between us in the CFP Poll.
Let's hope it is close.

We are ranked ahead of Florida in both the AP and Coaches poll... Any kind of loss to Bama (even a close one) will ensure that we remain ranked ahead of the Gators in the CFP poll... Combine this with the fact that Florida didnt travel all that well for the 2013 Sugar Bowl and a Tide win makes us a stone cold Coach34 lock.

The committee has put a lot of emphasis in the past on how a team finishes and their quality wins. I'm pretty damn confident a Bama win the SECCG secures us the Sugar bowl. Florida isn't the same team that beat us earlier in the season, and we're not the same team today that lost to Florida.

Fl will be on a 3th lost in 3 games.. They are ranked 2 spots ahead of us in AP.. Mostly same when CFP poll comes out tomorrow.. After a beat down by Bama they will be longer ranked then us
