Like most have said there is no question with a UF loss to Bama after how terrible they have looked that they will drop below us.

Then the Sugar HAS TO take us. No other option.

All that matters is we are ranked ahead of Florida in the final CFP Poll. Let's assume Florida loses by double-digits like pretty much everyone expects to happen.

We played in Gainesville without Tunsil while UF had Grier and we got routed. That was months ago and the personnel make drastic differences in the teams today. They'll look at common opponents: we beat LSU, they lost to LSU. We squeaked by Vandy, but not as bad they did. We beat Bama in Tuscaloosa, they lost to Bama on a neutral field.

Since we got Tunsil back:

Ole Miss:
No. 15 Texas A&M 23-3
at Auburn 27-19
Arkansas 52-53 OT
No. 15 LSU 38-17
at No. 21 Mississippi State 38-27

Since they lost Grier
at No. 6 LSU 28-35
Georgia 27-3
Vandy 9-7
USC 24-14
FAU 20-14 OT
No. 13 FSU 2-27
No. 2 Alabama ?

The committee will look at what the current teams are like today. Florida is significantly worse without Grier and we are significantly better with Tunsil. It would be a massive shock if they were ahead of us after a loss to Alabama. All that keeps us out is a Gator upset.

A competitive game by Florida would put them in over us IMO.
They're not going to care who did or didn't play in our game.

I don't think so. Any sort of loss by UF and they will drop below is in the polls.

Yeah especially with how they've played since losing Grier.

In the Coaches and AP (already ahead of them in the AP), yes. But not necessarily in the committee rankings.

If we are already ahead in this weeks rankings then you're right, we will get the Sugar barring an upset.

This.

ANY UF loss will move us ahead of them in the committees eyes.

The question is which Big12 team will we be playing?

Y'all are forgetting about UF's last appearance in the Sugar Bowl. That committee will do everything they can to avoid having another 3/4ths empty stadium.

Florida loses to Bama they'll be 10-3 with a win over us. Would they not be the lead candidate for the Sugar bowl bid?

Considering that we are currently ranked higher than Florida, there's no way in hell they take it from us. If they beat Bama, then Bama will go to the Sugar Bowl over them. It's not even feasible that Florida goes to New Orleans.

I think there's a good chance the committee keeps Florida ahead of us to reward them for winning their division and the head-to-head.

That's not the case at all. The rule is the highest ranked SEC team not in the playoffs goes to Sugar. This is not up for debate. We are already ranked higher than Florida, and they will only sink with the epic asskicking that is about to ensue. It's not even feasible Florida steps foot in New Orleans this year. It's us or Bama.

That's incorrect as well.

If the SEC champion DOESNT go to the Playoffs then the Sugar HAS to take them.

Edit: unless I misunderstood something.

Double Edit: I was correct. If Florida wins they go to Sugar even if Bama is still ranked higher.

quote:

The winner of the SEC Championship Game automatically qualifies for a spot in the Sugar Bowl if that team is not selected to participate in the four-team playoff. If the SEC Champion is selected to participate in the four-team playoff then the next highest ranked SEC team in the CFP Selection Committee Rankings will represent the SEC in the Sugar Bowl.

If Florida loses their collapse at the end of the season combined with poor play and missing QB makes most believe they will fall behind us. We will see.

What do you mean "We will see"? We already are ahead of them. 7 places behind us actually. The only way we're not a lock for the Sugar Bowl is if Florida manages to beat them, and even so, I don't think they'll be ranked higher than the Tide. There is no feasible way they're playing in New Orleans. They're basically a lock for Orlando.

Ok, but these clowns making the Bowl Predictions clearly aren't thinking this through in the slightest and proves that they don't know what the frick they are talking about. I still see all the projections putting Florida in Sugar and Alabama in the playoffs. Can these idiots tell me how this is remotely possible when there is a team in the SEC that is ranked 7 places higher than them and somehow Alabama still is in the playoffs after a Florida loss? These people are clearly flinging shite at the walls and haven't put a second's thought into this. They're quite frankly idiots if they think that Alabama has a playoff game and Florida plays in the Sugar Bowl. It's not possible this happens.

Again. This part doesn't matter. Then SEC champ if not in Playoffs goes to Sugar. If champ is in playoffs then highest ranked SEC team per committee rankings goes.

Currently we are ahead of UF in AP poll. But behind them in Coaches.

This I agree with.

Where do you see we are already 7 places higher than UF?

We are 16 them 18 in AP

We are 17 them 15 in Coaches

And if you are looking at any national predictions or anything it's people that are too damn lazy to report decently.

They see UF has a better record and are going to the Championship game. So they predict Bama to win and make CFP and then naturally give UF the second best bowl option. They are too lazy to actually research and see how it really works.

What happens if UF wins? Does that keep Bama out of the playoffs and send us to the Peach?
