Just curious, when was the last time an SEC HC coach resigned/got fired and immediately took another SEC head coaching job?
I have been hearing talk of Mullen to GA is why I'm asking the question

Houston Nutt. He worked our administration into giving him a gold parachute, that he was Sad, Sad I say!, to take... then immediately became the Ole Miss coach.

Mullen to UGA, Smart to UGA, Herman to UGA, it's all one giant smokescreen to cover up what's really coming. Saban to UGA

From what I understand. The SEC office frowns upon an SEC school hiring a coach away from another SEC school.

Actually the golden parachute was little more than the annuity that was largely his money anyway.

This is what I could find, but I'm sure there are other coaches from waaaaay back I missed.
1938: Harry Mehre leaves Georgia for Ole Miss
1970: Doug Dickey leaves Tennessee for Florida
1990: Bill Curry is fired by Alabama and then takes over at Kentucky
1995: Gerry Dinardo leaves Vanderbilt for LSU (lol)
1999: Tommy Tuberville leaves Ole Miss for Auburn in a pine box
2008: Houston Nutt is fired by Arkansas and then takes over at Ole Miss

This is true. Why wouldn't the SEC teams go after coaches from Midwest and Northern schools? I mean we are told over and over that the other conferences are so inferior to the SEC, but they want those coaches so bad. It's pathetic really.

Not until UGA trashes Bama in the SECCG

Nope.
Texas A&M was a member of the Southwest Conference when The Bear was coaching there.

But they weren't then.
If you're going to count that sort of move, then Bowden Wyatt left a then-SWC member Arkansas for Tennessee in the 1930s and Fran left Alabama for A&M in 2003.
