what is your definition of a blowout?

Curious to see what most consider an arse whipping. Is it a particular score, or maybe when one team clearly dominates? Tell me what you think.

11 points is getting your arse kicked.
I would go with 30

Any point difference exceeding 16

Game over by the end of 3rd qtr. Not score specific.

Blowout is kind of a strong term, so I would say more than 21 for a blowout. A dominating win could only be by 10 points (like about 13-3) if one team is clearly shown to be superior and the outcome is never in doubt. For example, a 24-3 win would tend to convince me more than a 56-24 win, despite the larger point difference.

For me, personally, I'd say anything above 16-0

3+ TD margin of victory.
Or, a double digit margin with twice the total yards gained by the loser.

Not sure that a specific number is a correct answer. Sometimes a team may have a 30 point lead rather late in the game and then with the 2nd and 3rd string in, give up 2 TDs.
If I had to put a number on it, I would probably go with 30 points.

30-16... especially when both tea were thought to be evenly matched by the general public and the score is really 30-10 minus a garbage time touchdown.
A 14 point game where the losing team completes only 6 passes and rushes for less than 50 yards is definitely an arse kicking and a borderline blowout
So it depends on the teams and the predicted outcome. 35-28 is neither an arse kicking or a blowout in terms of this year's LSU-UF game.
But again final score is not always indicative when factoring in garbage time TDS (see MSU-LSU last year...that was blowout/arse kicking regardless of final score).
59-0 vs fcs opponent is blowout.
59-0 vs non power 5 opponent is annihilation.
59-0 vs SEC divisional opponent (grabs thesaurus....insert word)

3 TD's or more is definitely a blowout.

Yeah, we got a good arse kicking which the final score didn't properly reflect. That game felt like it was a 45-3 game

30-16
17-0
21-0
52-0
those are examples.

I agree that it felt like a blowout against Alabama, but I can't see how a touchdown with 9 minutes left is considered garbage time.

I don't usually look at scores to judge an arse kicking; being able to physically impose your team's will on both sides of the ball for most of the game, regardless of score, usually looks like a blow out even if the score doesn't always reflect that.

I totally agree, I'll be the first to say we go whipped. I'm just sayin if we get the ball back after the score, we could be back in the game. Not likely the way your D has played all game but I still can't consider it garbage time.

what's that quote about art that is too inappropriate? "I can't define it, but I'll know it when I see it".
I don't think you can say a blowout is X amount of points.

THe visual of how the game looked. Regardless of score. If you go by score only, 3 TD's I'd guess.
