Why? Because it was Bama? aTm was playing for pride at that point.

In the most important game of the season, which you keep saying is all that matters, he played terribly against LSU.

That is where playing December 5th and not playing will decide who gets the trophy. I am not saying it will be Henry but I think someone playing that weekend will get it unless hopefuls have bad outings from here on out. JMO

I mean, yea. He did what nobody outside of Cam Newton had done to us in the Saban era. And Cam Newton........won the Heisman.

It was kind of a big deal.

When the vote comes, IF, I said IF because there is alot of games left to be played, LF is leading Henry in YPC, YPG, and TD/g while playing in the same conference and having 6 common opponents there will be zero chance he loses the award to Henry. Now, if Henry can close the gap on at least one of those stats, it will be neck and neck between those two.

and also because of tv ratings, national press, memorable moments, etc.

but that's all because it was bama is the thing.

Mostly agree, though if it is close in those categories or Henry leads one (say TDs) and then goes off in the SECCG for 200 yards and 3 TDs........I think Henry would win.

Either way, lot of games left to play. Fully expect LF to run it up against Arky, Ole Miss and especially A&M.

LF will still win it. He will go off for 600 yards over the next 3 games and wrap it up. Just means that defensive performance was that more impressive.

He'll get 300 in the last game so i can see 150 in the other 2

Yeh like I said if Henry can just take one of those categories it will be neck and neck between the two of them

Just playing on December 5th isn't enough though. Henry would need to show out. A mediocre performance could lose him the trophy.

ETA: If Fournette still has better numbers. If Henry's numbers are better, or equal, going into the game it doesn't matter.

Let Leonard run for 100+ the last three games and them try to give it to Henry.

Imagine how that looks:

Henry and LF both at the Heisman ceremony:

*they show Henry's stats*
1650 yards, 22 TDs on 300 carries in 13 games

*then Leonards*
1850 yards, 22 TDs on 260 carries in 11 games

Same position, same conference, same division...

Yeah it would make total sense.

Either way, long way to go.

One of Henry's games is against a 1AA team too, so he will probably get 9 carries for 65 yards or so in that one. Won't help much.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised to start seeing more Drake and maybe even Bo Scarbrough the next 3 weeks. Saban made it pretty clear post-game that he really doesn't want to keep making Henry carry it 30+ times if they don't have to, and Drake seemed to be feeling the holes and such better on Saturday, which would give reason for him to get more carries.

First of all, not one voter will look at TDs per game. That stat was invented yesterday by LSU fans.

Drake tore us up more than Henry did. Although towards the end of the game our defense was a paper bag due to our lack of offense

No, but they will look at total TDs and the fact the Fournette will have played in 1 less game during the regular season.

The extra game in the SECCG will have been earned by Henry, if Bama gets there, and would not affect it at all.

Saturday was Drake's best game all year. Can't even really think of a close second.

do you guys seriously not realize that if those exact stats play out that that's exactly what will happen?

Henry just balled out on the biggest stage. fournette tucked tail and ran. he blew it. that's of more importance to heisman voters than a marginal difference in stats given who fournette put up those stars against. that's why Henry is the new front runner and fournette will have to live with what happened Saturday for the rest of his life.

It will for the most part be the exact same teams Henry put his lesser stats up against. That you are failing to grasp
