to be fair.. that same bias that is putting Alabama at #4 right now is what squeaked Alabama into the mulligan bowl in 2011. Obviously, that Alabama team was great -- not just good. We all saw. Ideally, a best of 3 settles it.. but this isn't baseball.

That's fine, which is why I said history is a reason. But that angle has been tarnished recently, and really should vault them over the teams that they are listed over. CFB is a mess.

Those of you arguing that the rank of a team at the time you play them is not important. If thats the case then no teams should be ranked at all till he regular season is over. Just got out and play your games. Win them all. Dont look at or ever argue again about the rankings till bowl weeks. That should make you satisfied. Why argue if you feel the rankings are wrong? If they were wrong 3 weeks ago, guess what. They will prove to have been wrong again this time next week. You cant ever look at rankings as an objective means of comparing how good teams are. Its only a relection of perception. Its never reality. This is the problem fans have. They expect a ranking at the beginning of the year to predict 100% correct the final rankings or else it's flawed.
Stop the crying and win your games. Play teams that are perceived to be quality teams. Win them all and you will be there in the end. Lose even 1 game and you are subject to miss out from someone be subjective.

you want use the past.. then how about the last 2 big bowl games Alabama has been in.. they got annihilated.. they didn't even belong on the same field..
OSU blew the fricking socks off Oregon and Wisconsin(or whoever it was). Just straight fricked their worlds up. Alabama lost by 7 and shouldn't be on the same field and now a year later that embarrassing game they played against OSU should keep them out the top 4. Suck a dick

Florida so far back, just goes to show the Alabama bias..
Florida has beaten common opponents much more impressively.. and Florida's only lost was on the road against the #2 unbeaten team with a new QB and was a thriller.
Alabama lost at home to a 2 loss team and it's as if it never even happened. Beating a&m is nothing special whatsoever.. They lost to a 2 loss and counting team..
Any other SEC school with 1 loss would not be in the top 4 over unbeaten teams from a power 5 conference.. and that's just a fact.. and Alabama fans want to use their past to justify the current.. yet Alabama got smoked in the playoffs last season and they got annihilated in the sugar bowl a season prior.

It isn't like it happened. Alabama would be #1 if it weren't for that loss. UF should be ranked ahead of Alabama IMO.

I do. I know that you have put significant effort to try and explain why a meaningless poll formulated by people with far more expirence than you in college football is ludicrous and stupid. All of you arguing back and forth about where so and so should be ranked don't make any sense. Who cares where teams are. There is so much football to be played. This shite will work itself out. If it doesn't after the conference championship games and you still don't like where teams are then go ahead and bitch your little hearts out.
