Bama #4. This is good. This early ranking may be important if Ole Miss wins out.
What's up with LSU fans melting? Why do you care where we are? If anything I would think you would like this cause it shows how you might get back in with 1 loss. Maybe its penis envy. It just boils your arse that we're a 7 point favorite, doesn't it?

we ought to just give Bama an automatic playoff berth every year and have 3 open spots.
Sounds good to me!

Alabama has also played #18 Ole Miss.
I understand your argument. Where is Iowa? I had Alabama at 8 and Iowa at 10. I think Alabama would beat them 7 or 8 out of 10 times. That's why I had/have them ranked ahead. Maybe the committee doesn't think Iowa is good at all...? I'm not sure. The committee seems inconsistent to me.

Which eyes are watching? Their defense is sick.
I agree. Their defense is for real. But if any team has an above average offensive line and a competent QB, they give the gators front 7 fits. LSU had an outstanding o-line and a beast RB, with adequate QB play and you guys were going up and down the field on them. Every one of these teams have weaknesses. There are no 1995 Nebraskas or 2012 Bamas or Woody Hayes' Buckeyes in the landscape this year.,

Alabama fan arguments is basically that they should be rewarded for beating teams that were overranked at beginning of the season.
This is a true statement.

I got no problem with Bama being ranked 4th. They'd probably be favored over any of the other teams that people think should be ranked ahead of them.
Lot of football left to pay anyway. It'll all work itself out.

I think they out FSU at 16 because OSU was 16 in the first poll last year. Lose to Clemson and it won't matter. But beat Clemson and imagine the amazing storylines we'll have.

I was wrong, I meant 2 Big 12 teams...I get the conferences backwards at times when being hasty. But anyway, Ole Miss was so depleted at the end of the year last year...if you were being fair you would have to say that isn't a great comparison.
That would hold a little more water if Ole Miss wasn't down 42-0 in the 3rd quarter. That game, along with the Sugar Bowl, and the SEC's performance in bowls in general last year, should have confirmed to any unbiased observer that the SEC isn't a league of its own.

I don't deny some of what you said but OSU, to me, is better both years than MSU. This year MSU doesn't have much of a resume and should already have a loss or two. I was speaking of MSU specifically and not the Big 10(except for my error in conference listing, which I apologize for again)
MSU has proven to be a very good, well-coached team with NFL talent. They just went on the road in a rivalry game at the Big House and won (and they outplayed them too). They beat a very good Baylor team last year led by Bryce Petty. They also don't have a loss.

I don't feel that way at all and certainly don't intend to come across that way.

can't accept there are reasons the committee chose how they did.
Let's be honest, there are 3 reasons:
1. Saban (that works)
2. Eye test (extremely questionable, given your mediocre offense and very bad S/T)
3. History (tide has turned a lot here)

You aren't the only person they seem inconsistent to. Pretty much everyone already sees through the facade and sees the money grab. Bama is #4, Iowa is #9.
That is a very obvious bias. The CFP committee has turned out to be a pretty terrible idea.. the BCS should reign until the final poll and then the CFP committee should step in to decide who, if anyone, gets left out. That's a better system.

Alabama has finished with 1 or less losses in the regular season 6 of the last 7 years. This isn't TOTALLY random or fricked up.

It's as if Bama never lost.. that was to Ole Miss at home.. If anyone else was in the same position they would not be ranked 4th.
Their 2 impressive wins now appear to be against mediocre teams at best.. and they lost to a team with 2 losses and counting..

Win out and we are probably in. I was very surprised to be ranked that highly. Now with a win over LSU I would not have been. But I think should we win Saturday night and then run the table we will get our rematch with Ohio State.
LSU would have an argument to get in even with a loss to Alabama. Beat Ole Miss and send Bama to Atlanta. A win by Bama there and the Corndogs have a hell of an case.

This is all pointless. Either LSU or Bama will be absent this poll this time next week.
This whole charade is nothing but $

Because it's bullshite.
Had it been LSU, no way they would be 4th.. 4TH.. 4th! Had LSU done the exact same thing.. ahead of unbeaten teams..
That's the beef. Alabama gets the luxury of as if a loss never even happened. And keep in mind it was at home vs a 2 loss and counting team.. So even with a loss Alabama gets in the 4, yet look how far back Florida is with just a loss.. away from home to the #2 unbeaten team..

Didn't Ohio State have a bad loss early last year and still managed to win it all though?

Using the past to gauge this season is not only irrelevant, it's unfair to the current teams that are more worthy.. You know.. teams that don't have a loss.. at home.. to a team that has 2 losses

If you want use the past.. then how about the last 2 big bowl games Alabama has been in.. they got annihilated.. they didn't even belong on the same field..
