Three undefeated Power 5 teams and a 1-loss Florida SEC Champion (defeating Ole Miss).

4 undefeated Power 5 teams is not possible.

The only 1 loss team who could be ahead of Bama at the end is a 1-loss SEC Champion Florida, who gets in by winning the conference with one loss. Any SEC champion with 0 or 1 loss is in.

There will not be another 1-loss team with a resume as good as Bama's. Even if Ole Miss wins the SEC with 2 losses, Bama will have beaten 3 top-10 teams (2 on the road) and definitely 5, but likely 6, top 25 teams. No one loss team would have a resume close to that. And their 1 loss would be to a 2 loss SEC Champion or a 3-loss SEC Championship game loser, a quality loss.

Keep in mind, the committee has emphasized that strength of schedule is determined by ranking when the game was played, not at the end of the season.

Simply put, if Alabama wins out and so does Ole Miss, Florida is the only team who can spoil Bama's party, and they need there to be 3 other undefeated Power 5 teams.

Ain't I highly doubt that will happen. Roll Tide.

Good thing LSU is about to hand Bama it's second loss. It makes this very simple..

Rumor has it that the committee is laughing about Bama losing at home to a team that ended up losing to a basketball school

I am unsure. If ND finishes with only one loss, they may get the nod over Alabama. My thinking is Alabama's loss would be to a 2 loss Ole Miss squad and ND loss was to an undefeated Clemson squad.

In matching up schedules, Alabama's win over LSU would be countered by ND win over Stanford and also their win over USC, who beat Utah. If Wisconsin can get their act together, that would help Alabama's chances.

Bama will have beaten 3 top ten teams, 2 of those on the road. That one piece of info trumps everything else. It's not only about who you lost to, it's who you beat.

And giving a top-10 LSU their only loss of the season IS NOT equaled by giving Stanford their 2nd loss or USC their 3rd. Thats comparing apples and firetrucks.

So you're basing your entire strength of schedule on preseason rankings

What are you talking about? If Alabama has one loss at the end of the season and Florida has one loss they will play each other in the SEC CG and the winner will get a shot at the playoffs.

Well boy have I got news for you. LSU beats Bama & Auburn beats Ole Miss. It'll be a tortuous combination of hell for you.

Not if Ole Miss wins out.
