Friend in the AD just sent me this text (Spav/Murray)

I asked him about the rumor going around Twitter about their fight:
quote:
Since its out there now I'll go ahead and tell you. They got in a fight after Murray's INT against Bama, Murray said you only ever play me when we are doing bad and don't give me a chance to succeed. Murray was very heated and more or less said he'd never play for him again and stormed off. One of them definitely won't be here next year and it sounds like Sumlin is gonna run the bus right over Spav, it's BAD.

Murray is more important than Spav, so makes sense this is coming
And I completely agree with Kyler. I said this last week - we need to give him a chance to get into a rhythm. He is a high/low player like Manziel and needs a few possessions to be evaluated.

Not only should Spavital be fired, but he should return his salary.

Spav sucks and needs to go, but Murray needs to get ahold of his ego. He's had a few flashy runs, but other than that he's done exactly jack shite at the college level. He's averaging just over a 50% completion rate and 5.4ypa. He's missed a lot of wide open guys by throwing passes into the turf. That's lousy and figuring he's owed something is a bunch of bullshite.

Problem is we lose Martell if we fire Spav. I was hoping we could just demote him but I don't see how you can at this point.

Yep. Firing Spav will have significant recruiting consequences.

Bummer, but ultimately this doesn't matter. Lots of OCs have run successful offenses without Martell. Spavital has never run a good offense with any QB.

THIS. Man, I was worried about the recruiting impacts as well but now I can see that Im a dumbarse for that. Spav has to go

Chavis was worth far more than Malik Jefferson.
A good OC is worth far more than a 2017 recruit.

Yep. The Holgerson arm of the spread hunh needs to be eradicated from our offense

Sumlin is full of shite in his post game PV

You have a better eye than I do. I don't see any arm of any system in our offense

Bingo
And don't think that another 8-4 year doesn't damage recruiting too

Well, he isn't wrong. He's a competitive guy that wants to be a QB, not a gadget play.

Then he should learn to fricking throw. He's put a lot of passes into the dirt and both of his picks were completely avoidable, but he somehow didn't notice deep safety help.

I agree, but it could be much more than one recruit. Garrett and Lindsey for starters

Yep, this isn't high school anymore and he's not the best player on the field. He needs to shut up and learn and quit listening to his dad tell him how great he is and learn whatever this offense we are failing to run is.
Oh and Spav needs to go, tonight would be ok.
