If you're trying to get to 8 from 3, couldn't you have just made the ends meet together in the middle?

I think 5 is sliiiightly generous for us after losing Thornton and Nemi. Those are 2 huge pieces to replace. Our guard play should be terrific, and Maten at the 5 should improve in his 2nd year, but we've got to find some wings.

I wouldnt' be surprised to see us finish anywhere from 3rd to 11th

Wings? Kenny Gaines and Mann? Turtle will be starting PG by SEC play.

we were a 3 seed in the SECT last year and made the dance. True we lost 2 key pieces, but those are the only 2 people we lose and we brought in maybe our best recruiting class under fox.

We aren't going to challenge UK or anything crazy like that, but being picked 5th isn't really a stretch.

Neither is big enough to be a 3 or 4. Marcus and Nemi had the size to play the 3 or 4, all the guys we currently ahve that do have the size are untested as hell. Juwan Parker can play the 3, but we are a total question mark at the 4.

And I know turtle is legit but he's not going to come in right away and supplant gaines or mann. Those guys are both really really good. Don't forget Frazier too.

Mann is big enough to play the 3 which he will. Gaines played the 3 most of last year with JJ at the 2 and Mann at the Point.

By the SEC opener the lineup will be
1- Turtle
2- Gaines
3- Mann
4- Derek O
5- Maten

Just uncomfortably watched the Mizzou players at SEC media days sit at a table for around 30 minutes without being approached by anyone.

Very strange hire indeed. I don't know what to think about Avery coaching a terrible Alabama Basketball program

I don't expect the team to be great in AJ's first year. He has some building to do. But, we ain't finishing next to last in the SEC either.

Going to be very weird watching Gator basketball without Donovan. With everything going on in football, sometimes I forget he even left.

I think the team is going to be much better than people think. It is a talented team that had a lot of things go against them last year.

Team will look completely different.

7 foot transfer at center and Francis finally being eligible after academic issues. Devon Walker back from ACL tear.

7 losses by 1 possession last year.

UF is REALLY underrated going into this season.

He never makes it anywhere much longer than that. Could be a short peak.

He was given a loaded Mavs team and dismantled it. He's never built a team before. We'll see.

In a conference with Calipari, Stallings, Donovan, Howland, Martin, Pearl, and Barnes, there's no fricking way Billy Kennedy finishes 3rd no matter how much talent he has.

You sure do sound smart considering we finished t-3 last year in the SEC. We get it, you hate Kennedy. Take your drivel elsewhere. Oh, and by the way, Donovan is with OKC.

I'm waiting for him to tell us how A&M will never win the West either.

wouldn't be bad. I trust turtle, it's just always iffy counting on a TF unless you're kentucky. If DO can be solid for us we could make another run at the tourney.

I shouldn't laugh. But I did. Barnes will end up doing well at Tennessee, it's just going to take a bit for him to right the ship.

I don't know enough about basketball to criticize the hire too much, although it isn't exactly inspiring. That said, I hate our policy of hiring the first coach who says yes.

I would argue that Charles Mann needed to start as a TF. But to each his own
