that is all predicated on us actually being able to force Bama into passing situations anyway. If our LB play doesn't improve, I could see Bama doing a few 15-play, 80-yard, 8:00 drives without throwing it at all.

I agree. The A&M DL is VERY aggressive, and the LB's aren't there yet, so it leaves them vulnerable to good running teams.

Agreed. I would add that one problem we've had in stopping the run is the ends over pursuing and making large running lanes. The linebackers are what they are; they need time to mature & get healthy, more time than 5 days. However, if we can get the ends to play more disciplined against the run that would help tremendously against Bama's running attack.

There is no scenario that I can see that we shut D Henry down, but maybe we can slow him down enough and let the offense make some plays. I love what chief has done in such a short time with the D, and look forward to seeing what this unit looks like in subsequent years. That being said, there is no way to avoid the fact that offenses like Bama & LSU will be a bad matchup for us this year. I think we have a real shot in this game, but admittedly it will be a very tough one to get the W.

Ok, we're dead last in the conference on defense.

I stand corrected. That's what I get for assuming. Got to look at the numbers. I will say UT has had a tougher schedule than most but I had no idea they were giving up 419 yards/gm.

if we do lose it'll be A&M. I mean in the long run, you're still Tennessee.

Granted, our defense has giving up almost 200 YPG in the 4th quarter alone. So technically, we're a good defense, 75 percent of the time.

Bama will Win both games by 8pts at TAMU and by 26 in TTown . While you say both ut and TAMU are improved so is Bama's defense, by a good amount, especially in the secondary.

I don't think the A&M game will be as close as many here are predicting. A&M has no linebackers and their best players on both sides of the ball are sophomores or freshmen. Next year will be a better game. Bama by 2 touchdowns.

The UT game will probably start out competitive...with the Vols showing some pride. In the 3rd quarter the universe will right itself and it'll get ugly. Bama by 3 touchdowns.

Is this even a question? 2-0. Game won't even be close given aggy's gimmick offense and weak defense. and TN is TN.
