Cautiously optimistic but not confident.

Alabama team with arguably more talent.
Curious to hear where you think Bama has the edge on talent.
We've got talent across the board, imo. If I had to pick a single weak spot, I'd say kicking. Other than that, our biggest problem is our competition thus far and the fact that we haven't played from behind yet. Nobody knows how our team will respond if we find ourselves in that situation.
- This Bama team is not the same team we've been dealing with the last few years.
- My intuition is telling me they come in down rather than fired up. I just don't get the vibe from Saban that he's lighting fires under his players like he once did.
- Our only poor showing so far this year, if you can even call it that, was our only away game. We've dominated at home...and this one is at home.

our Dline must stop Henry and be able to pressure their qb....we do that...we have a fighting chance...let's hope Kiffin has another brain fart on Saturday

Us 44% Dem 56%. But I'm a Nega/Reality Dawg - depending on who's judging me.

because they've had the #1 recruiting class in America for about 6 of the last 7 years.
That doesn't necessarily mean they're BETTER, but strictly speaking on talent? There's no one in teh country with a top to bottom roster more talented than they are.

Quietly optimistic. I expect a close game that could really go either way, but I think we pull it out in the end.

After all the number one recruiting classes, why is Bama fat, slow and stupid?

We've played 16 quarters this year and he's looked bad in 2 of them.
Didn't say he has played equal amounts good and bad?
He has looked horrible at times and superhuman at times. None of those times was against a defense near as good as Alabama's.

I'm nervous and excited. I am worried that Lambert will lose confidence in this game against Bama's defense. I just hope that he makes some plays early and feels good getting into the flow of the game. We cannot win this game without him. I am confident that if he plays well and doesn't turn the ball over, we win.
Win or lose, we will finally know what we have going forward this season and even if we lose, we still control our own destiny in the East.

You really think Marshall Morgan is weak spot? I know he had a couple bad kicks against Vandy, but I wouldn't trade that guy for anyone over the past few years.

I don't think he's bad, I'm just trying to find a weak spot when really that's pretty hard to do with this team. Either DL or kicking, and maybe DL is more fair. Morgan was money sophomore year but outside of that has just been good. Not great, but good. I'm not very confident when he gets outside 30 yards. Not like I was with Blair Walsh.
Morgan's FG and kickoff rankings by year:
2012 - 98th / DNP
2013 - 11th / 91st
2014 - 48th / 65th
2015 - 65th / 26th

Dream scenario: Lambert comes out hot like he did vs South Carolina. The passing game forces Alabama to play honest, opening up lanes for Chubb up the middle. Michel gets involved on the perimeter, and the offense showcases a powerful, balanced attack for four quarters. The defense does well enough against the run (Henry and Drake will get theirs because they're really good) to force Alabama into obvious passing situations. Pruitt turns loose the pass rush, forcing Coker to rush his throws or take sacks. UGA wins something like 34-20.
Nightmare scenario: 2008. Alabama comes out fired up and desperate, UGA comes out flat, and it's a catastrophic result.
The reality will lie somewhere in between.

I know you can't judge a team on a single game but Alabama really looked pretty awful against Ole Miss, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Coker came in and had some impact but by that point Miss was well in control and playing safe.
Meanwhile, I watch the Dawgs and the offense has been very impressive since Lambert remembered he's a QB. With Lambert's accuracy and penchant to throw underneath, Bama is going to have to bring more than a 4 man rush to disrupt him and, when they do, I think we'll kill them with screens and passes out to the flats. And the D, much better than I ever expected. Pruitt has made a huge difference. I'm a relatively new NCAAF/Dawgs fan (~ '09, not from here) but this looks like the most complete, well-rounded UGA team I've seen in those 6 years.

I don't disagree with you here, but I also understand that the context is worlds apart.

UGA nor Lambert have faced a Saban coached front seven the caliber of what Alabama brings. These guys are tipping balls at the line like NFL players.
I don't think we will be able to run inside on Bama as they are massive but if we can back off the corners with the short pass and turn the corners on the outside with our speed advantage we have a chance.

Absolutely...hell, Chubb has had (relatively) limited success running between the tackles against even bad defenses this season. He's a completely different back when he uses his speed and strength to reach, and turn, the corners.
Bama's D is fantastic but against Ole Miss they looked vulnerable....certainly not bad, just not like "holy shite" kind of good, either. Again, I know it's unfair to judge a team based on one game but they didn't look like a typical Saban defense that night, imo.

not well...we havent played a decent team at all yet and the only "good" unit we have faced, Vandy's D, gave us a lot of problems. Offense scoed only what 17 points? I think we will hang around, but I'm leaning towards Bama winning.

what?
31 total points
punt return + interception return = 14
