I lol'd at the "come on guys play with class!" at the end

Nice to know that, after 'Boom', they got a mature leader who won't blow his stack like a 2 year old after a bad play.

What an arse. That's probably going to get him in some trouble...

Eh, I don't have a problem with it. They've been dealing with issues and now have a RB do the throat slash (which every player should know is getting flagged every single time) in a close game against ECU. And it's an upperclassman RB fighting to keep a hold of playing time, he should know better.
Now if it had been over a fumble, missed block, etc then I think McElwain would be going over the top doing that publicly. But, given the circumstances, no problem with it.
Wasn't it Grantham's first G-day game when he blew up on Rambo on the sidelines and the crowd was cheering it on and everyone was so excited we "finally had someone that wasn't going to put up with bullshite"?

Agree. These dumbarses need to understand that actions have consequences. The entitlement attitude. I can do anything I want. I like the fact that he called him out.

I bet they won't get another throat-slash penalty this season.
Looks like effective coaching to me.

He was still hot in his presser. LINK
Whether he can get results like that or end up with Charlie Strong results remains to be seen.

Maybe he should have unloaded on the gator who tackled his teammate on a fumble recovery. That was embarrassing.

It was dumb for him to do it like that. He came across as having lost control and that's the last thing you want to do as a leader. There are more effective means of making sure that everyone on that team remembers that for the rest of their life.

bullshite.
He isn't a corporate executive dealing with a gaggle of directors and managers in a board room after a shitty Q3.
He's dealing with functionally illiterate thugs between the age of 18 and 23 in an inherently violent profession.

A lot of good coaches yell at refs and at their own players for being boneheads, some throw clipboards or visors, etc.
But I've seen very few decent coaches lose their shite like that on the sideline against their own player. That looks more like borderline mental illness.
Pull it together coach, you haven't even reached SEC play yet.

I learned from the press conference that Dragon Fly linked that McElwain is tired of the thug culture at florida and being the most penalized team in the country for the last ten years..........
It makes perfect sense that he handled it this way. This was not a tantrum, but a pre-meditated choreographed reaction.

If that's the case there are better ways of sending the message in this situation.

I just like that he did a throat slash against ECU. Not exactly a powerhouse of an opponent. Guy probably flexes after he punches a 5 year-old, too.

And didn't throat slashing go out several years ago anyway? What's he planning for his next score,,,,,the Macarana??

Maybe there's something in Gatoraide that makes you color blind.

Or all those circle jerks. Mamma said you'll go blind, didn't she?
