TAMU winning the SEC? No amount of coaching from Chavis will save that defense.

LSU was #1 in the SEC in Total Defense last year. TAMU has the Offense. Why do people pick AU so high after last year since they got Muschamp for Defense, but not do the same for TAMU getting Chavis? Florida was 5th in the SEC in Defense last year.

that doesn't make much sense. they just weren't that good and no games have been played since then. why would you project them into the playoffs, and over TCU or Baylor?

LSU is definitely a contender, but there is a lot that has to fall in place for LSU to actually win the conference.

I don't see any reason at this time to be optimistic about QB. Replacing an undisputed top tier DC with a guy who hasn't called a defense in over 2 years and last time he did his D gave up 70 points is something we should wait and see on.

and yet Bama replaces theirs with an unknown and they are preseason 3 nationally with the hardest schedule in the conference?

weird.

all three are delusional.

These are guys that actually do their homework.
Im not saying I agree LSU will win it all, because it's tough in the SEC even when elite, but Corso&Herbstreit arent delusional about Brandon Harris unlike most on the SECr. LSU's offense will be better than anybody expects. That is a fact.

Kirk's prediction that Oklahoma will make the playoffs didn't seem that credible. Oklahoma was horrible on both sides of the ball in the bowl game against Clemson. not sure how you can project them into the playoffs until they show something in the regular season.

lol...

That team limped into that bowl game completely devoid of confidence in their QB and their OC, and with a defense that quit playing for their DC mid-season (he's been banished to the press box permanently as a result of losing his team), and they still put 6 guys in the NFL.

Bama replaced their starting QB last year and had the #2 scoring offense in the SEC and was #4 in passing yards per game. LSU replaced their starting QB last year and was 13th in scoring and 14th in passing. Apples and oranges.

Because AU was doing it on the field even without Muschamp.

Doing what? Their D was bad last year and A&M went into their house w/a true freshman QB and beat them.

wut?

TAMU won 3 of their last 5, including beating AU, who lost 4 of their last 5.

LSU is definitely a sleeper.

With that being said, CG is a joke of a show and the cast of analysts are terrible.

nothing you just said supports a projection they will be a playoff team, which means they will be better than both TCU and Baylor.

one of Kirk's reasons for this projection is that Stoops was embarrassed by the loss to Clemson and he is using that as motivation. lol

It's gonna happen.

Haven't picked LSU in 3 years. I feel good about this.

I can only assume they're making that projection based upon the historical facts that clearly show every time Bob has had a mediocre year, he rebounded the following season to win the BIG XII. See also: 2000 (national title), 2006 (Fiesta Bowl), and 2010 (Fiesta Bowl).

That......and we have the best backfield in the nation, which Kirk has obviously picked up on.

And no.....I'm not picking us to make it to the playoffs.

That will be pretty impressive for LSU to do, after dropping their SEC opener.
