Anybody else torn on this game. I get the whole conference pride thing. I understand the playoff implications when it comes to the end of the year and strength of conference. But I would still love to see the Gump meltdown if they lose to another big 10 school in the first game of the season

This scenario is preposterous. You might as well ask if you'd like to see Alabama lose to Chattanooga, its just as likely.

The answer is yes, btw.

I will be rooting for Alabama and I think they will win by a lot. Alabama is the face of our conference and if they lose to a team who lost 59-0 last year, it will make a lot of voters rethink the strength of the conference and that perception will hurt all of us going forward. Roll Tide, Week 1. Most of the other weeks, they can go frick themselves.

Does Wisconsin have any sort of passing threat this year? If so then Bama should be on upset watch.

Wisconsin will run on anybody. But their QB play was pure garbage last year, and I expect Bama's secondary to be back to Saban form this season. If Bama doesn't have to worry about the pass then even as good as Wisconsin's RB's and OL are, Bama's run defense is good enough to contain them enough to outscore Wisconsin.

If QB play for Bama is even JPW level and the RB's stay healthy then I don't see Wisconsin being able to stop them very often.

I think Alabama should win this game. However, game 1 with a new QB and a tough opponent could be dicey. Wisconsin wont be easy. We Aubies know that.

Sorry OP, but this isn't going to be much of a football game.

Wisky lacks elite skill talent, their OL isn't as good this year (multiple media outlets have stated it during camp) and there is only one good RB on the roster right now.

They lack size on the DL this year.

Wiscy will play hard, but Alabama defense will be too much for them. Alabama's offense will be shaky (first game) but more than capable of getting a 3 TD lead.

I doubt there is one LSU fan who wouldn't be happy to see Bama lose. We get it.

therefore, there is no need to create a silly thread about a game concerning Bama.

However, since LSU plays a complete shite OOC schedule, it has been pleasant to not have to endure the incessant LSU fan generated schedule threads.

We need UAT to whip the cheeseheads soundly.

But wisky is a fun school to play, all those Nordic blondes who like beer -- a bit liberal, but that can be good too!

Which team any of us pulls for is immaterial to the outcome. It'll be close for a half, and probably low-scoring as both teams struggle with offensive rhythm, but Bama will pull away to a decisive win. Whomever said 31-3 probably has it right, with the bulk of the Tides points coming in the last 20 minutes or so.

I think Bama's gonna destroy them so I am pulling for Wisky because I want them to at least make it a contest. I am itching for college football to start and I want to see good games.
