it does somewhat prove the point that on average you faced a better ranked unit, but the margin isnt extreme. I was just trying to post some facts for the thread

...interrupting the pissing match to talk about football for a moment...
Not sure where some of the stats being thrown around came from, but Arky ranked 5th in the conference in rushing YPC and YPG last season. They were 4th in rushing TDs.
Those are all pretty solid numbers. Their numbers aren't as strong against ranked or conference opponents, but considering that they had the 4th hardest schedule in the nation, I'm not all that surprised.
I don't think they're an elite running team, but they're pretty damn good in that category, and probably will be better this season.
As much as we make of the beef on the oline supporting the running game, they were actually more impressive in protecting the QB. They allowed the fewest total sacks and fewest sacks/game in the conference.
If I were an Arky fan I'd be much more concerned about the defense. That defense was very good last season and I expect them to take a few steps back this fall.

Sure, but when looking at the extremes and looking further into the rush defenses, there is a nice margin in which UGA had favor.
Georgia faced 3 defenses in league play that averaged giving up more than 183 yards on the ground. Arkansas faced one(aTm).
Arkansas faced 3 teams in the bottom half of the league in rush defense. UGA faced 5 of the 7 bottom half teams. UGA being in the bottom half, means they faced 5/6 worst rush defenses in the league.
Arkansas faced 5 of the top 7 rush defenses in the league. Arkansas being one of the top defenses, means Arkansas faced 5/6 of the available top rush defenses in the league.

I hope this has cleared a few things up for you. The bottom line is that Arkansas out-rushed everyone except Georgia and Auburn. If that's not impressive, then I don't know what else to say, except maybe that we didn't play Vanderbilt, SC or Kentucky.

So you are above this stuff eh?

Maybe because they run the ball a lot?

Maybe that's the problem. You guys took to many knees . I could
Under stand that if you guys went 6-2 but you you went 2-6 .
play.

Arkansas also faced the most players in the box on defense out of any team in the SEC. Especially once Allen got injured.

And in the game in which one of the best rushing defenses faced UGA, they surrendered 207 Rushing yards. And Arky managed 127 against one of the more generous rushing defenses...

Another very good point.

Well we were up 38-6 in that game. That obviously means we were going to be running a lot more than they were because in order to catch up from that large of a deficit they had to pass the ball.

Just saying his argument is completely ignoring the head to head matchup that kinda blows holes in his point.

You don't quite comprehend it seems.
Your reasoning blows holes in nothing.
It doesn't do anything to change the schedule Arkansas played a season ago.

we were better than that last year with four huge 4th quarter meltdowns. i dont see that happening again, especially with a more experienced team

I get that, but comparing things head to head like that doesn't always work the way it should. Arkansas' first drive of the game they ran the ball down our throats. Then we had a couple massive defensive plays and they had to start passing the ball to get back into the game. If the score was close I'm sure their rushing stats would have gone way up.

Nobody is saying UGA sucks at running the ball. But the OP using rushing rankings as a point of his, means the schedules should be taken into consideration.
If Arkansas plays Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee instead of Alabama, LSU, and Ole Miss...the team rushing stats are likely way better in SEC play.

I get that. I was really just trying to tell my fellow Dawg that I'm not disregarding our talent, just that I believe stats can be misleading sometimes. I've said repeatedly how impressed I am by your rushing attack.
