Looks like Auburn is trying to compensate for something...

Their new scoreboard is flat out ridiculous...and I don't mean that in a good way.
Here's a link from AL.com comparing the new one to the old one.
What's the point in having something that big? It's going to dominate the entire stadium and take away from the actual game.

frick Auburn, but if they aren't going to expand - why not utilize the space? The idea of the backside of the scoreboard projecting the game to tailgaters is pretty cool, IMO.

I don't understand why non auburn fans are so worried about the new scoreboard. It's a big tv screen, why care how big it is unless you are a student/fan of that school?

The screens at Cowboys stadium are very distracting. Takes you out of the game, and you might as well watch at home for free.

I agree. I find myself watching the screen at Titans games and forget to look at the field.
However, as I've said before, stadiums are having to compete with big arse HD TVS and comfy couches which is the same reason why WIFI is now a big deal in stadiums.

Fans want the following from a Stadium:
1.Good views of the field
2.Easy access to Concessions and Restrooms
3.Quality Food at a reasonable cost
4.Good sound Systems
5.Large Video and Replay Board
AU is taking care of 4 and 5 with this Video Board.

It's the same way at state. I find myself watching one of the huge HD screens instead of the field

All I wanna know is when and where they plan on putting the swimming pools and O'Doules bar

i have no problem with the billboard.
better then one loaded down with a bunch of cable TV and fast food ads.

I actually think it's more shocking how small of a scoreboard they were still using in 2014 than what they will have now.

The better to show ads with.

What's the 5th one we aren't taking care of now?

My guess is to watch the replays.

Is this where someone from AU says the OP set the hook and caught a lot of fish?

Actually the old videoboard was the first HD videoscreen in the SEC. So it was cutting edge at the time.
