I know right? That was some ground shaking, earth shattering accusations visited upon Ole Miss right? Especially since Ole Miss is a women's college basketball powerhouse similar to UConn or The Lady Vols!

Which makes me wonder, WTF did he think was going to happen? Was he trying to get Laremy to hit him?
Very very interesting... Kid's going to be a multimillionaire, maybe setting the stage for lawsuit down the road?

As for the comments about his Mom moving to Oxford...if you are a single parent with 2 kids at the same College and have a job that is easily "transferable" would you not move to be close to your kids? I would but my job is tied to a geographic area & the relationships there.
I would have hated that as a college student

No Coach, I don't run around book marking the numerous conspiracy theories you hatch. But by golly that link you provided about "Evil Big Brother" is some real damning stuff

Miller told The Clarion-Ledger that he denies the report and alleges the incident occurred after an argument with Tunsil on Thursday afternoon. Miller claims he never pushed Tunsil's mother and that Tunsil instigated the fight.
Miller claimed Tunsil struck him six to seven times.
Miller also asked for and received a restraining order against Tunsil, which was issued by Lafayette County judge Mickey Avent on Friday. The order includes Miller's two sons, Derek and Darius, as other persons to be protected
It's embarrassing how bad you're wanting to believe this guy's side of the story.

Clarion Ledger today saying step dad and children have filed and been granted restraining orders against Big Softy. Says no shove ever happened.

So Tunsil left the house after beating up the guy to "protect" his Mom? Yet- he left his Mom in the house with the guy supposedly beating her up? Why hasnt the Stepdad been arrested for domestic abuse?
I'd imagine there's more evidence of an assault when someone's punched in the face rather than someone being shoved. I figured you'd at least be smart enough to realize this.

if this was any of us or even some average Joe citizen would this be news and would a DA waste one iota of time on it?
no it would not be news but yes the DA would "waste time" on it. That's his job. He'd look at the facts and decide whether or not to follow through with charges. The police department arrested him for domestic violence, not the DA. And arests like this happen AL THE TIME in domestic situations. Fights happen, someone gets pissed and calls the cops, people are arrested. That doesn't mean the charges stick, though. Bu, the DA (or solicitor, not sure how Oxford judiciary body works) has no choice but to "waste time" on the case once the file is placed on his desk. Now, as far as it being news if it were a random dude...is that a serious question?

Fixed that for you. I know you didn't want to say that the Clarion Ledger is reporting that the was no shove...just that Miller is claiming that right?

A prosecutor of some type will 'get a look at it'.
Police do not conduct prosecutions, they merely make arrests. Depending on the jurisdiction and the laws of each state, the prosecution may be handled by the municipal/city prosecutor, district attorney/solicitor, or state attorney.
In Alabama, if the arrest happens in a city has a municipal court, it would be the municipal prosecutor. If the arrest happened in an unincorporated area or city without its own court, it would be the district attorney's office and prosecuted in district court.
Mississippi looks to be set up almost exactly the same way except they have county courts whereas Alabama's district courts don't necessarily follow county lines.
It is splitting hairs to say a DA won't look at it because it is handled my a municipal prosecutor. They've got the same job.

Spend one single day in a municipal/district/county court anywhere in the US and you'll know just how completely full of shiat this statement is.
Next to traffic cases & DUI, misdemeanor DV is often the most common charge on the docket.

If you refer to a future NFL offensive lineman as a "softie," what do you call male nurses?

No prosecutor ever wastes on an opportunity to shake someone down to raise money to fuel the government and pay the salaries, healthcare and pensions of the many, many parasites who leech off of those who contribute to society.

You're better than this.
Domestic restraining orders are one-sided documents that are either granted as a matter of course when domestic violence charges are filed, or all Miller had to do was fill out something saying he was hit by Laremy, and that he feared for his personal safety, and for the safety of X and Y, his children. BOOM-GRANTED. Laremy has no say in it, and neither does his mother.
Some courts will not allow someone to file domestic violence charges without asking for a restraining order or granting one, because they want the alleged victim to be serious about bringing the charges.
I think it is pretty telling that Miller didn't ask for the restraining order to protect his own wife, if Laremy was such a violent person that he attacked Miller without provocation.
