re: Is less than 10 regular season wins a disappointment for VOLS?

8-4, 9-3... paired with a good bowl game and the Vols continue their march back to being a power. Rebuilding from the Dooley Disaster is going to take time and 8 or 9 wins would go a long way to making that happen.

Volfan, 9-3 and fire up the flight tracker? Put down the meth

This season is going to be so good... Talent wise, the weaker teams have really closed the gap... This season will be more about how the coaches react to these closer games.

Vols to the ship or total fail.

You know volfan is always trying to troll UT fans and the rant. Almost all of us have said anywhere from 7-9 wins and I think that's fair.

9-3? I don't see 9 wins on that schedule:
Bowling Green- W
Oklahoma- L
Western Carolina- W
@ Florida- L
Arky- W (Benefit of doubt cause its home)
Georgia- L
@ Alabama- L
@ Kentucky- W
South Carolina- W
North Texas- W
@ Mizzou- L
Vandy- W
7 wins.

You had six regular season wins last year so, yeah, if you don't win at least four this season its a disappointment.
ETA: Sorry, at first I didn't quite understand what you were getting at. Jones already has 11 regular season wins at Tennessee so he's good there. He does need to try and get above .500 though.

Don't look now, but after embarrassing losses the past two years, spurrier is gunning for Butch this year. A must win game for Spurrier. Be prepared.....

I think Vol's snap the streak vs Florida this year. 8-4 is about what I expect, give or take one either way.
Please, please Tennessee, win your two games vs the West.

Damn, Tennessee has 8 home games this year. Tennessee can't lose to Oklahoma at home if they expect to have this magical season some of their fans want. Arkansas is another tricky one. If Tennessee loses to Oklahoma and Arkansas, then loses to Georgia, then they have no shot against Alabama or Missouri. There are your 5 losses right there. Beating Oklahoma and carrying the momentum into the Arkansas game will be huge. Tennessee should beat Florida by 2 touchdowns. If Tennessee manages to lose to Florida again....... BJ shouldn't make it back to the fricking hotel.

The curse of Matt Mauk reigns on...
2735 days since Tennessee had more than 7 wins in a season.
