The temporary shut down of UAB's football program is probably the best thing that has happened to it in a long time. Judging from the reaction and support UAB has received (just see the SECRant as a great example), they should be selling out games no problem when they resume playing. Blazer nation has been galvanized.

Haha, I love reading your posts in regards to Alabama.

Why not? I'll take a free UAB. Where do I pick it up?

I'm sure they will sell out this stadium when Roll Tide pays for it

Honestly, you might be right.

Where was all this support on Saturdays?
I have nothing against UAB football and generally hope it survives.
But the way people hang on a "cause" they really don't care about at the end of the day is just /facepalm to me.

Won't be for a while, the money for that went to Kristen Saban's wedding reception.

How long will it last though?
I have a hard time believing the majority of that support is really for the football team. I think a large portion of it is just people wanting to push a cause.
Are all these Auburn fans I see going on about UAB, or that professer in Georgia going to be regulars at UAB now?
But with all the money the school itself brings in, you'd think it could afford a little loss on football, so I hope it comes back.

The shitty, I mean city, of Birmingham does not deserve a luxury such as a new stadium or football team. It's a breeding ground for thugs and low lives.

It's already been killed once, no need to dig it up and kill it again. This leads me to believe football is coming back.

That's how I felt about it. UAB "fans" would've eventually gotten over it and the Free UAB movement would've died down. If they bring it back up just to kill it again, that'd be an awful PR move and cause the Free UAB movement to come back worse than before.

Well this is Ray Watts we're talking about. The guy has bungled this whole thing from the start.

Most of this was a chance to take a swing at Bama which most folks are looking to do anyway.
I couldn't care less if they have a team or not but it needs to be self-supportive. If all you are as interested in UAB football as you seem to be then they will have no problem selling 70K tickets and all will be well. I EXPECT you will all be there when they start back up. Oh and dont forget to donate every January. With all this support from around the south UAB football should not only survive but will thrive.
