Every program has 'em, the guy whose signing we celebrated, whose absence or minimal impact we then fret. Introducing the Now-or-Never All-Stars, a look at former highly-rated recruits who just haven't blossomed as expected, for a variety of factors. In our inaugural edition, we're tackling players from the SEC West.

LSU threw the ball to TE's more in the spring game than we have in a looonnnggg time. Could definitely see DeSean getting his fair share of the rock this year.

Yep. Add Chris Black and Reuben Foster to Bama's list also. Time to start earning those scholly's boys.

He could have a monster first half of the season because no one would be expecting LSU to use him.

OJ Howard is a monster. Bama just didn't spread the ball around last year, not his fault

Perfect choice for Bama.
There are actually quite a few choices for Bama because a lot of highly touted recruits get buried on the depth chart.
A couple more just from OJ Howards same recruiting class alone:
Reuben Foster - LB (5* and #6 on 247 composite rankings in 2013 - minimal impact first couple of years)
Robert Foster - WR (5* and #23 on 247 composite rankings in 2013 - minimal impact first couple of years

Robert Foster too. #2 WR in 2012 or 2013 247 Composite and hasn't started a game yet. He tore it up at A Day though.

Kid could be a beast if given the ball.

Reeve Koehler would be my choice. He's a 4* kid out of Hawaii who hasn't moved ahead of the 3rd team OL in 3 1/2 years.

Poor taste listing J Ward who has had chronic back problems along with back surgery. He is probably headed for a medical scholarship if the reevaluations aren't positive.

His orthodontist thinks this kid is a 3 time All-American.

He is a good kid and is willing to switch positions to try to get into the league. I am not writing him off yet.
