[Serious] What is LSU going to do to get out of their financial situation?

Im genuinely curious as to what is going to change in LSU's situation that will make them financially solvent? No one is talking about a strategy to get out of debt, instead everyone is waiving it off as unlikely despite the schools president literally saying they're drafting bankruptcy papers. TIA

It's all just for show. LSU will whine, the legislature will threaten, and then nothing happens. You are talking maybe 3% of LSU's total budget being cut. Both sides are very good at playing the part of drama queen.

True. If it comes down to it LSU will have people step up to donate money, including big oil companies. Its all politics.

I helped do 8 budgets for LSU during the 80's. We only fund about 10% of the LSU budget from the state. It is VERY hard to make any cuts in Education at any level, but, LSU can do this on their own, if they didn't just blame politics for it. They don't need bankruptcy, that's a scare to Jindal to just give more state funding. It can be done, it takes leadership. I love LSU. The oil and gas taxes are down due to Obama's EPA and the temporary price of gas being down. It will pass.
