So, if Johnny's out in Cleveland?

Apparently, there's a strong possibility that Johnny's days in Cleveland are numbered, if not completely finished. If so, what are his likely landing spots? His contract was heavily front-loaded, so whoever gets him will do so on the cheap. Who really needs him and which coaches out there are willing to take the chance? I don't follow the NFL as closely as I do CFB, so I really don't know.

He's burned so many bridges in his short time in the league with his persistent recalcitrance, it's hard to say what team would take a chance on him at this point even if there were a need.
I wish him all the best, but his best bet is probably to convince CLE somehow that he's turned over a new leaf and shows up to camp dialed in and wrecking shop. And not going out and getting into trouble.
Wish him all the best, but if he washes out of the Browns' organization, I think he might be done in the League. And he'll have few people to blame besides himself.

I'm afraid Tbird is right. Would love to see Dallas get him though so he can learn under Romo for a few years.

That would be awesome. I know that Uncle Jerry was seriously considering pulling the trigger in the draft. Although Johnny's stock has dropped considerably, so has his price tag.

Unless an NFL team is looking for a reason to be in the news, Johnny has a very bright future in the Canadian Football League.

Sad to see a guy throw away such an opportunity.

If Jerry does it, it'll be for the attention it brings to the cowboys, and not because he thinks he has a future with JM under center. With the track record that Manziel carries, I highly doubt he will succeed being back close to the people he parties with (aka uncle Nate and his other HS buddy).
Its time to write Manziel off guys. He was good for A&M and has enough money to live off of, so not an entirely bad career.

What is crazy is if he had stayed for all of his eligibility He would be coming up on his senior year. Kinda glad he didn't but also would've like to see what he could have done

I'm not writing him off yet. Far from it. But he's gotta get his shite together. As much flack as it got at the time, that 2013 SI article seems to have been spot on.

Too many teams need a qb for him not to get a chance with another team.

Yeah not sure his family did him many favors. I wish nothing but the best for him though.

Still think playing out his eligibility at TAMU and becoming the greatest college player of all-time would have been his coolest option.
Being a backup at Dallas may be the perfect spot for him now.

Yup. I thought this all along. He had the chance to be one of the greatest all time college players. And he would regret throwing away his eligibility, down the road when he looked back at his career. This was all based off my belief that he would have a short lived nfl career where he was average at best and bad at worst.
Now, at the rate he was going he might have also blown up the entire texas a&m football program with some of his decisions.

No kidding. Can you imagine if he would have had that hotel fight here in CS? And instead of an entourage, it would have been members of the team? We would have won back-to-back-to-back Fulmer Cups.
Also, imagine the poison he would have kept stirring in the locker room. There's too much smoke to not believe that he rubbed off some of the A&M players the wrong way. Maybe it was best for everyone involved to move on. Even if he fails now Manziel still got a nice payday from the NFL, so not a total failure I guess.

Admittedly, I lost interest in actively following JFF drama as his time in Aggieland drew to a close, but I thought his danger as locker room poison would be due to the distractions he'd bring, not rubbing players the wrong way. I know he wasn't beloved by all his teammates (my little brother hated his arse back in the day before he made it big in 2012), but it seemed like the principle players had his back more often than not.
I'm probably wrong, though.

No dammit, I want him to get cleaned up so he can come recruit for us.
The real sad thing is faced with stopping that party at A&M he and his handlers thought just rolling to the NFL was easier than cleaning up the act. They didn't get that the NFL has an even lower tolerance than the NCAA.

That is the reason a large part of me is glad he left early. Now if he would have cleaned things up it would have been awesome to see him stay.
I have often wondered if the coaches were glad he moved on

He is doing a pretty good job on his own being a failure in the NFL, don't think he really needs lessons.

Despite some of Johnny's dickbaggery, I wouldn't mind seeing a little of his passion rub off on Romo. I firmly believe that he is a genuine competitor and losing makes him physically sick. Romo seems to take the "my paycheck's the same either way" approach. If nothing else, having Johnny behind him might push Romo to be better.

I really hope this is not true, but I have a sneaking suspicion that we'll be seeing many Ags, mainly on Texags, suffering from the whorn's VY syndrome over the course of the next few years.
The only positive for JFF is that I don't think Coach Pettine has the same power that Jeff Fisher does over NFL G.M.'s and coaches.
