I really don't think anyone gave a frick at that point. That Bama lost took so much out of everyone and Arkansas was foaming out the mouth for a win. The bye week before A&M really energized everyone and we beat y'all for the 4th time in a row.

Our defense was such a hot steaming mess last year.
Glad we money whipped your best coach

You paid well above market value for him. Chavis is better than Steele, but he certainly isn't as good as Muschamp. It'll be interesting to see how the deal works out for both teams. If Chavis is going to make a difference I think you will see it almost immediately. His strength is not recruiting, it's scheme. If LSU's defense is going to decline with Steele, I don't think you'll see it manifest itself for a few years.

Very fair and balanced

Arguably the best melt will be A&M fans when they realize Sumlin's offense and Chavis's defense can never coexist.
Agree 100%

Auburn fans are in for a similar reality.
Do not agree with this. Auburn could be scary good. I think Malzahn and Muschamp will give Auburn what aTm mistanly thinks it has with Sumlin and Chavis.
Personally, I'm not upset at all about Chavis leaving, but I really wanted Muschamp back in BTR.

I 100% disagree.
The problem with the A&M defense isn't talent (we play below our talent level) or the offense. Heck it wasn't even scheme, Snyder had decent schemes.
The issue was attitude, and a sense of toughness. Queue that gif of us getting run over, but the fact is that our defense hasn't had an attitude in a decade.
I don't know if Chavis brings that, but I do know that if he did it won't get across in just a year. Sumlin has not fostered an environment for an elite defensive attitude to survive, so Chavis will have to find a way to build his defense within the confines of what we have.

Steele is horse shite. LSU could've done so much better. There will be many LSU melts throughout next year's season
