It's time for Richt and company to do something. We can't complain about being under staffed any more.

Good to see the Dawgs adding to their position!

Yeah, I think people are overlooking something. Not too many of the QAs we've hired are football coaches of any sort. A lot of them are administrative.

No shite. You can only have a limited amount of coaches but we're happy that we are finally entering the arms race with qb guys and S&T staff like Bama and AU.

Good news. This person needs to make HS coaches aware of all the positives associated with Georgia football and share all the negatives about rivals who poach in-state recruits.

My point being, Bama and Auburns QA guys are coaches. They' are fundamentally being used differently than how we will use ours.

How do you know? Looks like most of them have prior coaching experience.

Most of the guys in these positions are young guys trying to get into major college coaching

I've heard the point several times from uga beat writers. They might be trying to get into coaching but their positions will be more quality control. They will be handling logistical stuff like making sure practices are on time and that sort of thing. Bama and auburn QAs will be watching film and doing analysis for recruiting and that sort of thing. It could be wrong but that's what I heard.

I wouldn't give much credence to anything I read from UGA beat writers that isn't directly quoted from somebody at UGA. Particularly, the writers in Macon, Columbus, and Atlanta have given me too many reasons to doubt their objectivity and veracity.
Nevertheless, UGA is adding all of these full time positions that will be performing jobs that were done by someone else before (or werent' being done at all), presumably a coach. I doubt we're going on a hiring spree to get somebody to take over scheduling practices from some other administrator who didn't have time to schedule practices, because we've been scheduling practices forever.
Instead, I'd guess several of these hires are intended to either do analysis, or allow somebody who was already here to do more analysis, coaching, or recruiting. And there may be some who will be used to help players adapt and deal with various issues, which is a needed step to help with attrition.

Many of these QC guys will be organizing video and reports on HS players so the caching staff can make better decisions. They will qork closely with position coaches and the recruiting coordinator to make them more informed and efficient. I would guess we will have improved recruiting classes as early as 2015.
