I remember the press conference you guys held after Mike left.
It was surprising to me for him to act so surprised about Mike leaving for a place probably he considered his dream job.

And once again, it wasn't the fact that he left. When the Arky job initially came open Anderson said he was going to remain a Tiger. Then, a few days later, he saide farewell.

Have you ever heard of a coach openly say he is leaving his current job in advance? No, you haven't.
Again, to hate him for leaving, or hate him for why he left is ludicrous.

I honestly really like KA. His true coaching abilities aren't being showcased this year (obviously). Like the commentators said last night, you can't focus on the traditional coaching aspects if you don't have a foundation of senior leadership in the locker room.

Your points are 100% valid. I completely agree with you. It's just the fact he stopped recruiting knowing he was going to leave. Basically, he put on a puppet show for Mizzou and behind closed doors, he was trying to jump ship.

Any actual facts to back this speculation up?

He had zero commits.
Pelphrey was as good as fired by Christmas, IIRC, and our team absolutely tanked in conference play .

After the slimy way he left, absolutely not.

Nah, everyone knew his heart was at Arkansas. If he would have made a press conference and told everyone that, it probably wouldn't have been that big of a deal. But to lie, get on a plane, and not even tell your team...that's why I wouldn't take him back.
He is a coach who will never make it to the Final Four. His style will win games, but not the important ones.

Did he even have room? The next team had ya'lls best regular season ever did it not? Had yall turned into Transfer U yet? Just asking... I was jaded on basketball back then with our pathetic coach.
Top heavy maybe but still, to act like he just bounced and screwed ya w/o lube is pretty dramatic.

So kinda like Norm Stewart?
Cmon man, I don't think he's jesus but he was one game away with Mizzou and two games with UAB. Who knows what happens when the ball bounces differently....

Nope.
I didn't want him to leave, when he was leaving. But I wouldn't want him back. Too much water under the bridge.

Yes he had room and ended up with zero recruits. He may have not had 5-6 spots but he also didn't have zero. And we have had better teams than that year. The year you guys spanked us by 50 we only lost one more regular season game.

He left us with 8 scholarship players, and one blew his knee out before the season. He stopped recruiting, then left without even saying goodbye to his players, after he had announced that he would retire at Mizzou.

You make room for a talent like Otto Porter. But to answer the question...yes.

Wasn't he a Mizzou lock if Mike would have stuck around?
Programs lose recruits all the time when coaches leave, not sure what the big deal is...

so you're saying he didn't prop ya'll up to better compete against the team he was about to leave for? almost like he sabotaged your roster...
well that's not very good showing of sportsmanship ol chap. life should be more fair than that

Dead serious, how long is your leash with MA, if he flames out in the 1st round of the tourney this year and next year does not do any better or regresses do you still want him?
Programs like Mizzou and Arkansas should just be happy with making the tournament.

damn if that's what programs like arky and mizzou should be happy with, texas jr's happiness must really suck
