Why can't LSU basketball get over the hump?

They always seem to be on the verge but they never quite get there. Why is that?

They lack the chest for it.

I would say the same thing about Arkansas football

It doesn't help having Arkansas in their division

It is frustrating, no doubt.
The last time LSU was on the verge of getting over the hump was in 2006 in the NCAA Final Four. Damn near a decade now.
It must really suck to be the fan of a team that hasn't been on the verge of getting over the hump since 1995 (two decades), huh?

If this isn't a troll attempt then I will address accordingly.
When it comes to reviving the program their has always been a sense of "p***y footin" around in the athletic department meaning we go 75% every rebirth of the program. We are getting the players now but obviously lacking the coaching staff to return the program to its state in the Brown era with Shaq etc.

I could say depth, youth, whatever but they'd just be excuses.
team plays up to opponents highly thought of and down to those not so highly thought of. Or sure feels that way.

They don't have divisions, so yeah Arkansas doesn't help us

I think depth is our problem. Don't know if your looking for a real discussion or just flaming but there is my 2 cents

The talent will be there next year with Simmons and Blakeney. What is the overall perception of Jones? IMO, the team has gotten better since he got there and he is getting good players to campus(Quarterman, Mickey, Martin, Gray, Simmons, Blakeney, etc.). I think Jones has the program moving in the right direction and next year should be an excellent season for the Tigers.

I think so too. I personal like CJJ he's not the greatest coach but the program still has some momentum. Though not making the tourney this year would be a let down. But with the recruits he's gotten he deserves some time here.

I think unless they completely fall apart down the stretch, they will make the tourney. I know Simmons coming in is directly tied to his godfather being on the staff, and Blakeney is coming to play with his buddy. But, Jones has proven he can bring in good players and this is his first season with the core being his guys. I think he will be around for quite a while.

We are sinking right now but hoping we get the win tomorrow. Lsu recruiting staff is still battling for top tier guys. Going after a top 10 player next year and Malik Newman having a visit to lsu. Just nice to see us in the race for the top guys.
