Triple slot for a 2nd rounder seems odd to me. But they only need to cover ~$1.7M from the rest of their pool to make it work.
Money wise, Graham and Bench can probably do better on campus, plus they get the perks of being kings on campus for a year. But hard to go out any higher than going out a National Champ. Would be huge to have Graham, Bench, Gonzo, Chatty, Kemp and McCants to build around.

Saw on Twitter the Red Sox signed Anthony for 3x slot (~$2.5M). They must have really wanted him.
With Graham in 14th and Bench in 17th, will be interesting to see if either of them pass on tge pros and return. Would think neither gets more than $25-50k.

Not saying you are wrong, but my understanding was it was strictly tied to eligibity years left.

He will have to sit out, unless the NCAA grants a waiver. The only players that are guaranteed to not sit 1 year are current juniors (true or RS). The only thing that matters is the number of years of eligibility left, and VJ has 2.

That is all of the receivers on the roster for 2018 that I recognized. We need WRs, but in a small class (19) I don't think we can take 4 this year.

For 2017, I am taking 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 4-5 OL, the rest defense. Problem comes in the "the rest" may only be 9-11 spots.
Side note: Alabama already has 3 of the top 14 RB's in the class. Ohio State already has 3 DB's in the top 60(overall). Talk about a blazing fast start.

Therefore we have 7 scholarships carrying over to next year. Plus the 25 allotted ( Im assuming here we have 25 guys leaving).
so 25 plus 7 should give us 32.
We have appx. 80-82 on scholly right now(counting the incoming class). We have a very small senior class for 2016(I believe it will be 16). We have a couple who could declare early(String, Haynes). As of right now, we can sign 19 in 2017. Obviously attrition, early entrants, etc. would cause that number to rise.

Rebs getting a good bit of air time in the first 2 hours of coverage. And we have already had a mention of the NOA, but it was a "Bear controlled media" portrayal of the information.

My dad sent me this about 10 minutes ago. "Per a source in compliance, NCAA has offered football 2 years probation and 9 scholarships over 3 years. WBB is getting close to the death penalty and W track falls somewhere in between these 2." We both live in Baton Rouge, with 0 sources so I am confident he got this off of a Rebel board somewhere...

I have read somewhere(maybe here) that we were already self imposing penalties and have been for a year or 2. Something along the lines of reduced coaches recruiting time, reduced OV's and I thought reduced scholly's.

I listened to both but am generally multitasking so I must have missed it. If David is correct about the splash around NSD regarding Higgins and Akers, we will have 3 top 55 players committed already. I'd argue that is a better start than our 2016 Class as of NSD.
