The sense of entitlement from the media is laughable. Nobody owes them a damn thing.

Marshawn Lynch's tired sphinx act masks the hard truth that without the media NFL players would be playing in a parking lot for $8 an hour

Then you have this goober.

quote:

Sports journalists unite: It’s time to boycott Skittles.

Don’t let your kids eat them anymore. Forget about handing out those small packets for Halloween.

Skittles should be considered poison to any sports journalist who asks for respect in dealing with athletes.

I love it. The sports radio guys here in KC have screeched against him until their lungs are sore.

Funny to see the media get all huffy up on their high horse.

It's hilarious that the silent treatment works on grown men. Lynch is acting this way (at least in part) for the attention. The media is giving him and his sponsor exactly what they want

These media chodes are pathetic. They sound like band members at sporting events who say..."without the band, it would just be another game". This whole thing has caused me to like Lynch a lot more.

The media, along with lawyers, have become somewhat of a scourge on this country. fricking clowns.

I saw the skittles thing what a dork!

Wasn't General Grant quoted as saying: If I lined up all the reporters and shot them their would be news from hell before morning.

I may be alone here but I side with the media. Not the point of them whining incessantly about it, but I see them as having a legit complaint.

Here's my analogy to explain why: let's suppose you're an engineer for a defense contractor, and you're one of the most brilliant engineers in the company. In addition to your brilliant engineering, part of your job is to regularly interface with the customer to tell them high-level details about the project design so they can make plans, documents, etc, but this customer is so big that you can't possibly interface with them directly, so they hired a sub for you to interface with and the sub in turn processes your info into a format the customer can use.

Well, Lynch is basically the brilliant engineer telling the sub (media) to go frick themselves, he was hired to do engineering work, not talk with a lowly subcontractor about his work.

Now I'm an engineer, and I can tell you right now that doing that shite will get me a permanent fine - AKA pink slip - I don't care how brilliant of an engineer I am, so Lynch should consider his arse lucky that he can get away with that shite with nothing more than a slap on the wrist.

Now it may be the case that the customer (viewers) don't give a shite about getting the engineer's info (player interviews) anymore, but that isn't for the engineer (player) to decide.

ML is a fkn stupid dumb arse entitled idiot. Don't get me wrong I also think that the media is a bunch of stupid fkn dumb arse entitled idiots too. But, he has this opportunity on one of the biggest stages one could possibly with the all of the media with a microphone in his face to see what he has to say to say something that could to make a difference. Get the word out about his work in Oakland. Tell his story on how he was able to get out of the projects, become a roll model for all of those kids he's trying to help back in Oakland. Instead he acts like a spoiled brat and throws away his opportunity to help others. Fkn idiot.

I think a lot of people are missing the point that he is going along with contract and making himself available. To the minimal degree, sure, but Lynch isn't breaking his contract. Therefore, I think it's hilarious that people get so worked up over this. Regardless of the contract, I would still think it's hilarious.

I think his antics are just making him look like a big cry baby. He looks like a total fool, in my opinion. If he would just answer a few of their questions they would probably move on to the next guy after a couple minutes. He's actually drawing more attention to himself, which is apparently something he doesn't want in the first place.

The way I look at it, he's fulfilling his contractual obligation by showing up. It is what it is. The media can get pissed about it, but the media also loves to spin shite to their advantage on the regular so I don't feel anymore sorry for them then I do Lynch.

If the players are unhappy about it, they need to take it up with the NFLPA and work to change it. And the reality is the media they hate so much is part of the hype machine that puts money in their pockets. So they'll need to recognize that when it comes to changing things.
