Missouri Is a Pretty State- What Do You Like?

I have only seen the Ozarks but I assume the rest is pretty. What is your favorite part of the state?

Everything St. Louis and south on line bordered by I-44. The area bordered between I-44 and I-70 would be second. The rest is farm land like Iowa.
The Ozarks are great. Places like Johsnon's Shut-In's and Lesterville are great camping / float trip areas.

Starting around Truman lake and go south. Like the areas around Thayer and Bull Shoals also.

Southern Part, Ozarks.
But I do like going into STL on I-44, the hills going into the metro area.
I actually like both metro areas of KC and STL. That's why I love Missouri. We have our country parts for hunting, fishing, nice lakes. Then 2 different Metro areas of 2-3 million for your pro sports and other entertainment.

That's where our house is. I can see 44 and 30 from our place. Nothing but deer and turkey behind us, great hunting.
My favorite place; Amidon and the upper Jacks Fork. Missouri don't suck! I've been to 41 states and this one is tied for 1st.

As others have already said, the Ozarks. Doesn't matter where, every part has unique beauty. Southeast Missouri has elephant rocks and Johnson shut-ins which are awesome:
Southwest Missouri has a lot of great scenic creeks and rivers which are great for floating, fishing, camping, and other recreation:
And for the sake of adding something that most people don't consider when they think of Missouri, the swamps and cotton fields are unique as well:
Southeast Missouri was essentially a giant swampland until roughly a hundred years ago when they drained a lot of them to create fertile cotton growing fields. There's still a bit of swamp left though.
and of course there's the skylines of Missouri as well

Damn, thanks for posting this by the way. Sometimes I forget how awesome our state is 
We've got swamps, marshes, plains, and mountains. We grow cotton as well as corn. We've got vast rural areas and we've got multiple sprawling major metros. Damn Missouri...you're not so bad.

Damn Southeast Missouri looks NICE. Never been to that part. Just 1-44 going to STL and SWMO(Springfield/Branson/Joplin). I've never been down the I-55 part of the state. Love the swamp and cotton pics.

Yeah ive never visited Southeast Missouri either but I would love to go and see the Francois mountains, elephant rocks, johnson shut-ins etc, as well as the swamps and cotton fields.

Grandparents used to run a campground and floats on the Black River, further south than Lesterville.

I remember my grandpa driving us across the river just about at this exact spot when the river was down a bit. Told us we had to lift our feet or the water would come in. We were dumb enough to believe him.

Funny how we're known as Yankees when we have a state with swamps, marshes, and cotton fields. I mean yeah, only like 5% of the population lives there, but still...

Some of the river bluff areas are really cool, going north out of KC clear to the Nebraska/Iowa line along the river is beautiful in the fall. I hunt mushrooms all up and down the Missouri River in the spring so you get to see all the dogwoods, plum and redbuds in bloom for 1-2 weeks. When you're on the bottoms some of the Cottonwood and Sycamores are truly giant when compared to trees growing else where.

Don't disagree (I'm from Kennett) but the bootheel is probably the flattest part of the state.
I love the Lake of the Ozarks area (Tablerock, Stockton Dam, etc). Best kept secret in 'Merica

I'm am probably biased, but South of 70 is where it is at. I'm not a fan of metro areas.

The Northeast corner isn't so bad either...here's the view out my parent's backyard. Rolling hills and fertile farmland.

Hey reedus, my family camps and floats from the Highway K campground every year. The pic of the bridge is very familiar.
