Bears, you're getting into quite a few tussles on the RB. What gives?

I mean, he can go play in a similar system he plays in now, or he can go hand it off to Fournette or another RB 40 times a game and run out of the I for the majority of his career.

Yes because that's all that Mettenberger, Jamarcus and Flynn did......

I don't ever remember Beckham, Landry, Randle, Lafell, Bowe, Doucet, Byrd, et al ever catching one pass.....

Y'all can continue to argue through this thread. Foregone conclusion Shea (and Sean) are Rebs.

In fact, I was told this morning USC was more of a threat down the stretch than LSU.

Fact of the matter is who has Miles developed as a top-tier QB? Since he took over, here are 4-5 star QB he has signed:

1) Jarrett Lee - BUST
2) Jordan Jefferson - BUST
3) Russell Shepard - BUST (lulz made him move positions)
4) Zach Lee - Who? BUST
5) Zach Mettenberger - good QB, but made him sit behind inferior QBs
6) Jerrard Randall - BUST
7) Anthony Jennings - BUST
8) Hayden Rettig - Who? BUST
9) Brandon Harris - Jury still out, but not looking good

At least Freeze doesn't have a large enough sample size to judge him yet. The only guy he coached at Ole Miss broke tons of school records and ranks top 10 SEC all-time in total yards. He turned a guy whose only offers were Tennessee Tech and Arkansas State out of HS into a decent SEC quarterback.

Think about what he'd do with Shea.

Same thing ole miss has done with every QB since manning. Absolutely nothing.

Where LSU has won the SEC and NC with just ok-meh QB play.

Which would you rather?

He's done more with less than Les has done with more.

Yeah they couldnt get it done with 2x Super Bowl champ Eli Manning for crying out loud, no one should trip over them getting Shea. But you know people will

amazing that there's only one position on an entire team. Also amazing you're comparing a team built from 4 coaching staffs' ago. The talent on our team right now would absolutely destroy that 2003 squad. Just beat it like a rented mule regardless of who we put at QB.

Bo threw for 10,000+ yards and is top 10 all-time in SEC yardage. That's the only one in the Freeze era and pretty good considering Bo wasn't a four or five star talent.

It's obvious the Patterson family feels they can be more successful at Ole Miss and it has all LSU fans jimmies rustled.

Fact: Miles hasn't developed one high school QB in his nearly decade tenure.

He's relied heavily on strong defense and strong offensive lines.

After Nutt has left the SEC for good, Miles is gaining the reputation as the next "QB Killa".

What does it say about Sean Patterson that he'd want to leave LSU for Ole Miss for essentially the same position? (He interviewed for similar position he has at LSU)

Y'all should rename the slogan for Tiger Stadium, "Where highly rated QBs dreams go to die."

(sigh)... 10-7, where are the championships, Bo sucked after having such a bright future, Jevan Snead, yada yada yada. I'm just saying you're all frying eggs over this kid. Neither LSU nor Ole Miss has developed a worthwhile QB under their current staff, but then again this can be said for tons of programs. Just chill.

Would you want to go to a school as a top-rated QB where "just ok-meh" QB play has a strong correlation over the last decade under the same coach? Especially with QBs were were similarly rated out of HS as you?

Ole Miss certainly hasn't had the luxury of winning big, but it takes landing players like Shea Patterson to make that happen. 7,8,then 9 wins in Freeze's first season means trending up. When ranked teams storm the field when they beat you, that means you're headed in the right direction.

Which is why I think y'all are being so defensive about it.

Who really cares about the past exploits of former QBs for either school? The biggest thing on this page which hasn't really been highlighted is USCw is a legit threat to come into South & land SP.

2012: 2,994 passing yards, 22 TDs, 17 INTs
2013: 3,346 passing yards, 18 TDs, 10 INTs
2014: 3,194 passing yards, 22 TDs, 14 INTs

This is an example of selection bias. You probably only remember games in which he played LSU. He had his best overall game ever in 2013 against LSU in Oxford and struggled in Tiger Stadium. He also struggled in his last game, which people are going to remember more.

He didn't regress though. He just was what he he was. Freeze got the most out of him.

He wasn't invited to the combine and was a detrument to your team nearly as much as Jennings was to ours. C'mon, man. You and everyone else know those stats don't tell the story one bit.

USC was a threat early on, but Shea's developed a really good relationship with Freeze and Werner and is leaning Ole Miss anyway. Sean getting a job at Ole Miss is just the cherry on top.
