If you aren't or weren't I have no respect for anything you say because you have no idea

I expect this to go over well.
This is a pretty douchey, assholish post - but I agree with the overall premise.
Good luck.

I haven't played football since the 8th grade but at no point would I call myself an athlete.
I have run several marathons though so screw all you couch potatoes.

I played football in high school. That's about it. I remember thinking maybe I could walk on at Ole Miss. I went to an open practice and within the first 5 minutes I said "Nope. No way in hell"

Define athletes.
I played basketball, football, and ran track throughout high school.
Played intramurals throught college and in streetball tourneys.
Played club sports in basketball and softball right after college.
Have lifted weights every month of every year since I was 16.
Have not played a competitive sport in years now but still lift.
I would now say I was an athlete but not now since I don't consider weightlifting an athletic endeavor.

Sure as hell did. They deserved it.
They left the stadium empty and the ones that were there didn't cheer. For shame...

Played high school football, not sure if that meets your standards.
My intramural football team is a perennial playoff contender though

All of Espn's hosts are not "Athletes" yet they know a lot about sports. Just cause you played football in high school doesn't mean you know more then me because I didn't. Now if you played college that is a different story
