True. There's the smell of good food cooking pretty much anywhere.

It's possible, but the odor is still there.

Everywhere else is Cleveland." - Tennessee Williams
Nola is a great city, one of my favorites in the world. Stay off Bourbon St. and find the real New Orleans.

Seriously, You guys are really clueless about New Orleans though, there are more highly educated young people in New Orleans now that ever before, it is in a huge rebirth right now. A ton of those Ivy Educated teach for America people have stayed, they have more restaurants and shite then ever before. Since Katrina is like they traded 100k thugs for 50k ivy league grads.
Mardi Gras parades and Bourbon street are not all New Orleans is about.

Only been thru it once in a big rig.

New Orleans is easy access to a lot of protestant areas of the country and thus attracts people who'd like to let their hair down for a weekend without judgement. This ends up in Billy Bob pissing or shitting himself then putting his sack on an 18 year old's face. Then they run back to their redneck shitholes and complain about smell and drunks.

So you also drove through the swamp. Did you expect it to smell like a bed of roses? You're either really bright, or need to get out more.
