Let's say the max 250 were allowed, 125 from each program like it was the last two times we (SCAR) were down there. 100 players, 25 attachments including coaches, their families, and support personnel and hangers-on.

That's 49 ounces of steak per person ... 3 lbs each. Have you ever tried to eat a three pound steak? That's just for starters.

57.6 ounces of ribs per person ... 3.6 pds each.

49 ounces of chicken per person .. 3 pds each.

6.4 shrimp per person ... okay, that's believable. (but we've since found out it was actually 1600 pds of shrimp, not 1600 ct)

4.8 pounds of cheesecake per person.

ETA:

400 pds potatoes
... 1.6 pds per person.
300 heads of lettuce ... over an entire head per person not counting tomatoes, cheese, bacon bits and other toppings.
160 Bloomin' Onions ... a little more than half a bloomin' onion per person - fried in deep thick batter.

Roughly twelve pounds of food eaten, per person, not counting liquids.

I'm calling bullshite.

ETA: Updated with potatoes, salad and bloomin' onions and a correction on the shrimp ... it was not 1600 count, it was 1600 pounds.

Officially, Outback served 282 players, coaches, misc staff, coaches wives and support personnel this free meal. So they have increased their head-count by 16 head per team since we were down there vs Michigan.

quote:

CBS Sports: Now, it's not immediately clear if those numbers represent the amount of food prepared or the amount of food actually consumed (though they add up to somewhere in the neighborhood of 4,100 pounds either way), but to judge by this tweet from Badgers offensive lineman Walker Williams, we're not betting against the latter:

This makes me proud for Western civilization.

Mankind has been fighting and dying and sweating ever since the times of cavemen to avoid starvation.

Now we've put together a society that can blow nearly 2 tons of food on one huge dinner banquet, and unlike the medieval lords of times past who did so on the backs of the peasant masses, the average American is so well-fed that overeating is an epidemic.

We've come a long way.

So your natural ignorance assumes that they portioned out all that food and made everyone stay till they cleaned their plates?

No chance that some didn't like steak, ribs or chicken? Simple minds are good for a laugh.

I guess Outback should scale down their menu to offer only one meal choice.
