Mizzou goes to SEC and wins back-to-back Division titles.

Nebraska was irrelevant in the Big 12. That's why they left.

True. What exactly is their recruiting base now? Chicago?

Good question. They lost Texas and can't recruit California anymore. I guess they have to go hard after their shitty in-state talent and pick a player or two out of Iowa.

Still going hard after Missouri. They have a couple of good recruits out of the Show Me State this year, but they have family ties to the Nubs. Word is after their poor showing this year, we may get some Flipmas gifts from the bugeaters though.

Someone on another board tried to compare NUs underachieving to UGAs so I did a comparison of team recruiting rankings over last 5 years. Recruiting is a huge component here and Pellini is actually doing well with the talent at his disposal. I guess there is a chance for them to get a different magnetic personality like a cum or pete carroll, but if they don't nothing will change.

4th winningest program in college football.

They were irrelevant the moment the Big12 was formed as ruled that you couldn't take partial qualifiers. That and stricter drug testing.

Still think Nebraska played Mizzou in the whole Big 12 break-up mess. Good to see they got what they deserved, an irrelevant team nationally.
I hate Nebraska more than any other team. Hope they don't win another game...ever. Would even root for Kansas over them.

Best part is they are suffering through several years of a B1G junior membership while Mizzou was full equal partner from day one.
I'd like to know if it's true that Mizzou rejected that JR B1G offer.

Nebraska has been irrelevant for a while now. Every team being on TV almost weekly has drastically changed things for programs like Nebraska, Michigan and Tennessee. They don't have any huge advantage to sell anymore.

They did, no matter how the detractors try to spin it.

Biggest mistake in their lives. Playing in the BigTen with a Big8 mentality led to this. They should accept the fact that the days of taking over a conference and dominating inferior opponents is behind them.
frick em. I hope Bo Pelini accepts another job within the BigTen and proceeds to beat their arse.

Leaving the fertile recruiting grounds of Texas behind was a dumb decision. Mizzou on the other hand, not only kept access to Texas but also gained access to Ga and Fl.

quote:I don't know if it was a rejection as much as a "We can't really afford that, can you work with us." type thing. Then Nebrasky swooped in and snagged the deal.

Least that's what I heard. One of those situations where being poors/budget conscious kind of worked out.
