We were better than LSU in literally every category except for rushing yards in that game.

It was a fluke result that should have ended in a blowout - just as we saw in New Orleans on 1/9.

And we were better in every single category in 2012 and 2014 so i don't want to hear any excuses from the 2011 game

It obviously is the hardest place to play if you have to pull out last minute drives to beat someone and that when you win you act like you just won the super bowl

Kinda like you did in 2011?
1/9/12 was in New Orleans in front of what was touted as a 75/25 LSU crowd by some of the folks on this board. Don't think much needs to be said of how that one went.

No you weren't. Alabama out gained LSU Saturday by 56 yards. Averaged more yards per rush, more yards per pass attempt, and more yards per completion.

Funny isn't it? If you asked a few of our resident idiots then they will tell you that LSU dominated the game. In reality though, LSU couldn't do anything, and they were outperformed by Alabama.

Almost the exact same scenario. Uncanny. Bama fumbles. LSU takes late lead. Bama comes back to win it.

Sucks arse.

I'm not getting into pissing matches with anyone over this game because it was an outstanding college football game in Death Valley. However, the MSU game is a fricking buzz saw waiting to happen to Bama due to the emotional toll that game took out of both teams. Hell, LSU a freaking underdog on the road to a team that hasn't won an SEC game in 2 years.

It was a great game. Congrats to the Bama fans. With games this close, the luck is sure to turn soon.

This is completely true for 2012 and completely false for 2014. Check the box score... Alabama had more yards per pass and yards per rush than LSU, plus better conversion rates on 3rd and 4th down.

LSU was just mentally weak from the moment of the fumble forward this time.

Outside of actually making the field goal they didn't do a single thing like a team who expected to win that game. They got the lead and didn't know what to do with it.

That was more disheartening than the result. In 2012 it didn't feel like the moment was too big for the lsu team, Bama just took it. Last Saturday felt much more like lsu was contributing to its own demise and that the moment was just too big for that team.

This much is for sure. I'm dying for Bama and LSU to both get in the playoff next year and spoil everyone's party again.

The two teams were about as evenly matched as you can get on Saturday. Right down to the shitty QB play. One was just a little less shitty when it counted.

No you weren't. Bama out gained LSU by 56 yards. Bama threw for nearly three times as many yards as LSU and had a higher YPC average. Bama averaged a whole yard more per play than LSU. Yes LSU controlled the clock in the 2nd half by running the ball while Bama stubbornly kept throwing unsuccessfully and stopping the clock.

We should all remember the pecking order though. If LSU struggled to beat a team that completed 8 passes, they would be moved down in the polls. When Bama does it, they move to third in the coaches' poll.
