Maybe I should say "Unsuccessful" instead of underrated. Like you said, his menu carried Bordino's for years.
Picasso's Pizza out on Wedington was really good that he ran. The Shrimp Diablo pizza (which he also put on the Mezza Luna menu) was fantastic. He tried to do that El Jabali place after Mezza Luna, but I never tried it.
Anyway, I guess my point is that I'm excited to see how he can do as just the head chef of a place again. Hopefully it gives him some stability to develop a good menu and a good following again. I'd heard that he had a non-compete with Bordino's when he left there that disallowed him from working within a certain radius of the restaurant in order to keep him out of downtown when he left there. Maybe that non compete has expired since he's going to be at Table on the Hill... or maybe that was all BS

I posted some in the thread on the SEC Rant. I've never had a bad meal at Deluxe Burger. Small menu, but gourmet burgers are their deal.
Farrell's is a great sports bar, with a chef-driven menu. They consider themselves a "gastropub". I always enjoy it there, too.
Vetro off the Square is fantastic. Not walking distance to campus (unless you really want a hike) but it is excellent, IMO. Hugo's is also in the Square area and its kind of a "must go" place for a visit to Fayetteville.

Herman's on College used to be a great steak/ atmosphere/ hole-in-the wall place. Havent been in several years so maybe someone else can chime in, I'm actually curious.

Now I want some kilowatts.
And a sophomore.

I thought it sounded like a lot of food was being consumed. It would be cold in a grass skirt at a luau if the cold weather sets in.
To OP, it is not near campus but around 20 miles away is a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Rogers. I haven't eaten there but have heard good reviews about it and the others I've eaten at in other cities have been really good. It's also located in one of my favorite areas of NWA.

I'd hit up Hugo's on the square for lunch and Doe's for steak if you're wanting to get a Dickson/Downtown Fay experience.
Green Sub just opened on Dickson also, great sandwiches for another good lunch option.
I love Geraldis also. US Pizza is solid also on Dickson.
We also have the nicest Waffle House in the South on Dickson

Those and the gator bites from Alligator Ray's are staples of my college summers.

Ruth's Chris is nice, but they are all over the place. Better to recommend something unique that you can't get at home.
If you are looking for a laid back type lunch place, try out Hammontree's. Badass grilled cheeses.
Also, all this talk of kilowatts has me seriously missing Party on the Patio. Always a great time during the warmer months.

But our state's largest city doesn't even have one.
So NWA >>>>>>>>>>>LR.

Definitely looking for something more "Fayetteville." There have been some great suggestions on food so far. Thanks.
Any recommendations for game day? Not food, but tailgate areas, player walk, marching band, etc.
Areas to stay away from?
BTW, is the crowd different in Fayetteville as opposed to Little Rock? I've been to Little Lambeau three times, and those cats were none too friendly.

Good luck! The tailgating in Fayetteville is so spread out. Combine that with the walking you have to do to get to each place with the cold weather...It's not going to be much fun.

None, Fayetteville is a nice town.

It's a different crowd in Fayetteville.

Do people not tailgate throughout campus?

We tape bags of fine wine to our legs instead of pints of whiskey like the Little Rock folk.

The stadium is at the edge of "campus"at the bottom of the hill. Campus technically extends all the way down to the intersection of MLK/Razorback. So tailgating is done in the parking lots throughout the athletic village. You'll see what I am talking about. It's very spread out. Kind of hard to explain really.
Here is kind of an idea...The stadium sits in a valley kind of but is still on a hill. So everything south you're walking down hill. So if you go to the stadium it's uphill. The red boxes are tailgating areas. The area arrows point to the main part of campus.

Tailgating on the Old Main lawn and doing a massive crowd crawl to the stadium wouldbe epic and blow the grove out of the water.
