Arkansas: Did Bert sacrifice this season just to redshirt a kicker?

After all of the kicking problems that cost y'all the aTm game and the Bama game, I checked to see if y'all had a decent kicker on campus.
Looks like y'all gave a scholarship to the #2 Place kicker in the nation last year and maybe redshirting him this year.
Cole Hedlund
Unfortunately for the Razorbacks, kicker John Henson badly missed a 44-yard field-goal attempt in the fourth quarter. The score would have put Arkansas up by 10 points with less than two minutes remaining. As we know, the miss proved to be costly. LINK
Defensive end Jonathan Allen blocked an extra point to make the difference in the game as the 7th-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide (5-1 overall; 2-1 in the Southeastern Conference) defeated the unranked Arkansas Razorbacks (3-3 overall; 0-3 in the SEC), 14-13, before a sellout crowd of 72,337 Saturday night on Frank Broyles Field at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium (capacity: 72,000). LINK
My question is: The #2 ranked kicker should be able to make extra points and FG's under 40, so is this just another blunder by Bert that is starting to look like it will keep y'all from winning a SEC game and possibly a bowl game?
Using non-recruited walk on kickers by committee is kind of like the portrait of Arkansas football

In answer to your question, no.
By the way, our kicker made 6/6 xpts and kicked a 49 yard FG that would have been good from 50+ last week.
Hedlund needs more leg strength, had a fair shot in preseason, got out kicked.
