One of the Worst Uniforms of all Time ...

Or THE Worst Uniform of all Time? (Apologies to S.Colbert)
First, I readily admit that I am a traditionalist. I have not been overly fond of ANY of the off-color uniforms that Adidas has hung on the Ags recently. (The all-black was the least awful). Can we not just lose the damned bevel, wear maroon/white and play football. Leave the catwalk to the anorexic supermodels.
With that being said, I literally LOATHED these uniforms. The front of the jersey was not awful (taken alone), but overall the thing was just ugly. The silver on the helmets was especially ridiculous. When did silver become one of our school colors?
But the worst part was that the color combination made it impossible to read the names on the back of the jerseys.
So it was both ugly and non-functional.
(endrant)
Edited:
I found Adidas inspiration for the uniform.

Better than any of the Aggie unis without stripes on the pants.
Better than the all white number with the maroon lids we used to wear.
And let's not pretend that how we performed in them doesn't greatly affect the perception of the uniform. Think it's a coincidence Aggies love the Bama icy whites or the 2012 all blacks, while despising the dark onyx or last week's? Nope.
Carping about uniforms is quite possibly the most inane activity this side of the bevel debate on TexAgs. Just win in 'em.

Absolutely agree with this. I had to use binocs to read names of the players on field and sideline. Very hard to read.
Dave South is already terrible at play by calls... it must have been horrendous on the radio this past Saturday. Much worse than normal.

I thought the helmet was the best thing we've ever done
the jersies were rough though

The jerseys looked like undershirts or practice jerseys. I dunno, something was just off about them
After the way we played hopefully we set them all on fricking fire

I loved the helmet. The front of the jersey was pretty terrible, though

I also loved the helmet, but hated the silver Texas.

Navigated my way to tArk hoping to read some more of CGSC's 23 melt threads and I seem to have found myself on the fashion board.

Returning alternate jerseys who need to lose their job next season

I thought the jerseys and the helmets looked like shite. And being able to read names and numbers is a practical concern.
I like our base unis and I'm not sure why we don't want to use a consistent brand on national TV.

The helmets were great. As good as the black, flat maroon, atl maroon, or whites. The silver on white was tough to read, but it looked good too IMO.
The front of the jersey though was the worst A&M has ever put out. The oversized logo on the pants looked bad as well.

The unis aren't for you or any other fan.

We do use a consistent brand: the block aTm. And we present that branding in different ways.
Also, news flash: nearly every major program has alternate uniforms. They are a fact of life, no matter how much you or anyone else bitches about them, tbh.

All of that is true Mr. Tbird. Unfortunately none of those facts make those uniforms any less butt ugly.

Their "ugliness" is quite subjective, is my point. If we'd come out an performed in those like we did in 2012, I guarantee you there'd be fewer folks complaining about them.
We're going to continue to have alternate uniforms, though. And that's a good thing for us.

Agreed. I really didn't like the grays from LSU last year but I have really loved everything else we have had. And for the one game I didn't like? Meh. It's all part of the shape of the program and generating buzz. I am all for it, whether I like the uniforms or not.

The grays were sweet, blacks were good, but didn't really dig this recent past version of our "icy whites". We looked like stormtroopers, and I'm a star wars nerd, but it didn't really resonate with me *shrug*

Gee, in sure glad you're here to absolutely set the record strait on every topic under the Sun with all of your worldly knowledge and experience.

I'm just stating my opinion like everyone else itt. Keep your shirt on.
