how awful is ole miss tailgating?
the espn commercial makes it look like a tea party or something.
It looks far too tame and pussy for anything I would want to be a part of before a big game

The novelty wears off quick if you're not an Ole Miss fan. After about 15 minutes in the middle of the Grove I was wandering how the frick they do this shite every week.

Pretty much sums it up. If youre not from OM, it's cool to see for about 20 min. After that it's just a cluster and if you don't know anyone without a tent, ya fricked.

Yeah, its a fun scene and the girls are hot.

I was with a pretty large group with multiple tents. It's just such a cluster frick once everyone gets out there.

Everyone knows everyone in Mississippi. Therefore, for someone from MS (even if they are not an Ole Miss fan or alum), the Grove is a pretty cool scene. There are a lot of people is a really confined area though and that can be problematic.
I don't think the scene is overrated at all...it is unique to the state though and I can see how someone from outside of the state would not "get it".
I make it up there about once per year with colleagues and friends. It is like a high school and college reunion combined. It is actually more tame in some respects than it used to be 20 years ago. Back in the early 1990s, if you were not wearing at least a sport coat, you were considered odd in some circles.
You definitely will not see a bunch of grown men wearing football jerseys, which is refreshing IMO.

I agree that the wright thompson gameday ad is frickin embarrassing.
But that said, I've always had a great time at OM games. People have always been friendly imo.

Meh. Went there when my sister in law was at Ole Miss. Its fun, but I mean its no greater than Tuscaloosa or Baton Rouge.

Its different type of tailgating. It's not really my cup of tea but i understand why they're proud of it.
I could never have my tailgate in the grove. Simply not logistically possible.

The grove is just a centralized tailgating spot on grass, with an exceedingly high number of hot sluts walking around, and is conveniently located close to the stadium. Perfection in its simplicity.
Oh yea and finding secret spots around campus to hit blow makes it feel like a magical adventure.
