Their secondary is just so..... bad. And your QB will have a blast (or at least he should). Are there any points y'all are seriously concerned about? Rooting for you guys this time

Worst case scenario, it's a close game where the last team with the ball wins.

I'm more confident in our defense stopping them more times than theirs stopping us (assuming both offenses perform as well as they have been). I just don't think they'll outlast us in a shootout if it comes to that.

Dak is clearly a great player, and their offense will score points. My worry lies in which offensive group shows up for us...USCe or first 3 quarters of Arky. Regardless, we'll know a lot more about our team after this game.

I'm for sure worried about Dak running, hopefully our LBs are able to contain him. The one decent running QB(Rice) we have faced got 84 yards and 6.5 YPC. We were also without two of our better LBs ( Mastro and Washington) that game so we shall see.

Opening drive performance under Kevin Sumlin:

2012 Florida: Field Goal
2012 SMU: 3 and out
2012 SCSU: Touchdown
2012 Arkansas: Touchdown
2012 Ole Miss: Touchdown
2012 Louisiana Tech: Touchdown
2012 LSU: Touchdown
2012 Auburn: Touchdown
2012 Mississippi State: Touchdown
2012 Alabama: Touchdown
2012 SHSU: Touchdown
2012 Missouri: Touchdown
2012 Oklahoma: Touchdown
2013 Rice: punt
2013 SHSU: Touchdown
2013 Alabama: Touchdown
2013 SMU: Touchdown
2013 Arkansas: Touchdown
2013 Ole Miss: Touchdown
2013 Auburn: Touchdown
2013 Vanderbilt: Touchdown
2013 UTEP: 3 and out
2013 Mississippi State: 3 and out
2013 LSU: Punt
2013 Missouri: Punt
2013 Duke: Missed FG
2014 South Carolina: Touchdown
2014 Lamar: Touchdown
2014 Rice: 3 and out
2014 SMU: Field Goal
2014 Arkansas: Touchdown

The strange thing is that the scores of the teams that held us to 3 and out on our opening drive were:

48-3
57-7
51-41
38-10

We scored on our first drive against Arkansas and I wouldn't say our offense played well. I don't understand your point.

smh. That's like asking what the point of the Cookie Monster when it's clearly to teach proper cookie nutrition.

The point of the post, 13, is to teach you to count

I'm pretty drunk and my power is out from the storm in Dallas. I'm a little frazzled

Their defensive line is really good. Contain that battle and we will put up the points. Defensively, no big plays and keep their 3rd down conversion % down and I think we win handily. Last year's game was a lot tougher than it should have been because of those things.

I can see a scenario in which Dak Prescott skulls fricks our run defense and has a Heisman moment type game. We have been notoriously bad at stopping the spread option the last several years.

That's what worries me as well. Prescott going absolute beast mode and us losing a shootout.

Well they are the most experienced SEC team in the west this year, it's not going to be easy to get them off their game and out of their comfort zone. But we're defiantly talented enough to do just that we play all our cards correctly. Dakota Prescott is a good quarterback but he's not Cam Newton and he's not Peyton Manning. But he is better this season and they gave us a game in college station last year. I expect more of the same, but I also expect to win because most importantly WE ARE BETTER as well...

This is what I believe as well. I think struggling against Arkansas but coming away with the win will be good for us.

Front 7 is going to need to play a hell of a game, particularly our DEs.

If they held us to 3 and out, it would have yielded a better result so far.
