I would like to hear your opinion on Dillon Day and the stomping. Also do you think he will be punished?

I don't see how Mullen or the SEC don't punish him to be honest. Just be sure your backup knows how to snap the ball against A&M

Just watched the first incident on the replay and it definitely looked like he added some extra force when planting his foot. That and the obvious late hit, he should be suspended at least a half by Mullen. If the NCAA punishes him it will be at minimum a game.

Hey...if the refs had no problem with it, why should Mullen.

Like I said before, don't let him play THIS week.

I honestly think the first one was incidental the second was questionable. Again if the refs aren't going to call it the NCAA or the SEC are going to have a hard time dinging him for anything if he says nothing. Cant prove he was doing it out of ill will.

Trae Elston would disagree. MSU's hue of red is a bit dark to get any benefit of the doubt from Mike Slive.

Suspend him for the ut Martin game. Tough...but fair.

I don't see the issue. HE clearly left the ground before the LSU guy rolled over on his back. It's clear that he could have landed all 300 pounds on him with both feet. He did not.
The hit after the play, Yep... handle it.

The most posters with the problem with it are LSU for obvious problems and auburns. They are scared shirtless right now, but would never admit it, to come into Starkville in 3 weeks. For ANY auburn fan to complain about thuggery is beyond hypocritical.

quote:Actually, 2 feet coming down would have been better than one. A 300 lb man coming down on 1 foot from 3 feet in the air is what in psi? It's physics. What if he had landed on a spleen or worse, the liver? Football is brutal enough without unnecessary brutality.

Again.. you can take the film frame by frame and see that Day left the ground before the lsu player rolled onto his back. It's hard to change direction in mid flight.
Second, your point is not 100% right. You can plant your foot and bend the knee until the second foot is on the ground. It does not have to be your total weight. Physics. But that does not matter. The question is was Day off the ground prior to the lsu player rolling under his jump.

quote:No. The question is whether Dillon could have avoided the contact or whether he was malicious on more than one occasion. Ask him. I don't know.

IMO he clearly stomps down on the player's stomach. He could have easily landed there accidentally but it appears he gives it an extra pop for good measure.

Have you considered that a spider was on that guys stomach? Day was just helping a guy out.
