Georgia Tech 77% vs. Georgia 23% is kind of shocking.

Not really. The only thing that shocked me are the results if you run Vandy vs. SEC schools. My guess is the sampling size is too small/cost of Vandy is too high.

Most of the people applying to tech are probably looking at something specialized. Some sort of engineering type degree or the like. I would imagine most people applying to tech applied to UGA as a 'just in case', so if admitted to both would go to tech. I can see the logic.

Yeah, it's the same thing as Auburn-UGA to some extent. It's reflective of the preference of the group being assessed more than some generalized preference in the state or region.

UGA isn't that appealing to kids who want to go to Tech. Most UGA students probably don't want anything to do with Tech and the lifestyle at Tech.

Who wants to have a soul-sucking college experience that is 90% misery? I like Tech more than UGA because I grew up a GT fan, but no chance in hell I'd ever attend, it's awful.

This makes the whole list invalid. Obviously they polled slow people. Or people from Florida. Or losers who only care about schooling and not an enjoyable college town

That, or the overwhelming majority of people who applied to both schools reside in FL.

Has to be. No way an unbiased person chooses Florida.

This is really an unfair comparison.

To me FSU/UF would seem the most legit disparity. Unlike UA-AU or UGA-GT, UF would dominate in quality of life and academics for most, I would presume.

Do non-trashy kids like FSU? To be honest, the only respectable FSU fans I know are from south GA.

Wife and I both graduated from Auburn. But send kid to Georgia. reason? Hope Scholarship.

Costs 28K a year now OOS tuition at AU, vs pretty much free at Georgia. Easy but painful decision.

Admittedly she got a great education. Georgia is a good school. But now that she is graduated we have returned to normal full on jihad.

Yep, better to compare FSU with a school like UCF (U Can't Fail) instead.
