Yes, they can and likely will be a factor in the SEC. Don't ever sleep on OBC.
Now if (IF) the Dawgs can waltz into Williams Brice and beat the crap out of the g-c*cks Clempson style, the HBC is going to have an extremely difficult year of it. Going 0-2 in the conference to start the season - at home - could throw them into a tailspin. And I would LOVE for us to do that to them.
But I don't think that happens. S. Carolina matches up with us a lot better than aTm and we have struggled there. I started the year believing USC was the class of the East and we would beat clemson, then lose to the c*cks. I now have some hope we could pull out a win there, but it will be a 4 quarter game.

does SOS still have any magic left.
Yes. I think they were looking ahead last week. Every team usually has a game where they don't show up. They have a better O line than Clemson and if anyone can expose our secondary, he can. I expect a shootout next week.

I'm quite serious when I posted that the Scrooster is the one to give us all an informed opinion
not trolling
and I'm still worried about going to Brice

They lost to the best team in the country. I don't know why everyone is writing them off.

Yes, I don't see a Spurrier coached team being down for long. I mean some teams do go through rebuilding years. I just don't think they have the QB to win the East.

The defense doesn't look the part. I suspect it will be a decent year but not double digit win year.

They are done. The OBC doesn't care anymore. He will retire after this year. You heard it here first.
Nope, did not hear it here first. We've heard it every year from somebody since he's been at SC. One year somebody is going to get it right.

We'll have to wait and see what the Scrooster says, he is the source for all things SCAR.
Has he come out of hiding yet?
Or do we need Gee-Dubbleya to come out of retirement to smoke him out his cave??

Along with UGA, they were a trendy pick to win the SECEast. The saying goes its always better to lose early rather than late, but to lose at home like they did was a shocker.
I guess my real question is, can we write off USC for 2014, or does SOS still have any magic left.
No ... we're not a factor nor are we capable "this season" of being a factor.

They have two options, essentially, and both require debunking history:
Reel off 7 conference wins in a row
Win 6 of 7 with the loss coming to AU
Both scenarios would require them beating UGA and UF. Richt has been pretty good against Carolina sans Marcus Lattimore. Carolina has struggled in The Swamp.
If they beat East Carolina and us, then they can really gain some confidence. That puts them at 2-1 and they follow that up with:
@ Vandy
Mizzou
@ Kentucky
BYE
Furman
before traveling to AU.
Their season basically comes down to the UGA game, which terrifies me. They'll be in desperation mode. Win that one and there are some big things to play for. Lose that one and their season could get even uglier.

depends on how we play vs UGA. Defense scares me right now. I think they'll come together, but not until the second half of the year. We just don't seem to have a game changer on that side of the ball. Maybe one of the linebackers will step up in a couple weeks. Anyway, our fundamentals look non-existent.
If Spurrier decides to call run plays more frequently, the offense should be potent enough to keep up with most teams.
I thought before the season and still do that we are a 8-4 or 9-3 team this year.

Your dumb fricking loser arse would call it a melt.
My boys would laugh at you and tell you it was a lecture you should heed.
But of course they'll surpass their Dad financially before they are 45 whereas you're still living in your mother's house at 33.
Uncanny ain't it.
I used to pride myself at turning 75% of the young men who worked for me into successful Fathers, Husbands and Citizens in life. But I learned long ago to take the Internet FWIW even with the dumbshits .. which is the category in which you fall.

I was donating full scholarships to SC when you mizzourites were masscering Mormon women and children at Haun's Mill.

Maybe, I remember SC beating UGA 35-7 in 2012, in a game that wasn't as close as that score. UGA came within one play of being the NC.

Ain't gonna happen this year. UGA has a smash mouth football team .... we do not. Not unless something miraculous happens between now and then.
UGA is deeper at RB than maybe any team I can ever remember ... and we've got pussification issues.
We'll see what sort of honor and pride SCAR has in the next ten days ... if we've really turned the corner in the face of crushing defeat or not.
This is where true colors show. We, as a SEC football program, we're pathetic Thursday a week ago.
