How can anyone but A&M be #1 right now?

If we're going to stupidly insist that we rank teams after 1 freakin week, how does anyone justify putting FSU at #1 over A&M?

Because polls are based on last season's success and predictability.
To admit that they were wrong about A&M would be blasphemy.

all subjective at this point. We don't know truly how good SCe is, nor how good OSU is. Because of that, you have to take a step back and look at the talent assembled on each roster. A&M is not number 1 in that department

Do these polls even matter any more? Maybe I am just confused, but I thought the committee was going to select 4 teams independent of the coaches and ap poll

Because we have no idea if SCAR is good or not.
I'm high on A&M, but Kenny Hill will probably have a bad game or 3 this season, and many or most or all of his good games likely won't be like the first one.

Honestly I don't think anyone deserves to be 1 after this week, but FSU gets it by default. I think rankings before week 4 are a little overrated

I agree.
Not to take away anything from UGA., but they are getting a lot of publicity on the win over Clemson.
aTm's win was more dominant and over a higher quality opponent.
Not sure why there isn't a gush over aTm like there is over UGA right now.

I'd have A&M above all other SEC schools with the exception of Georgia. I think those 2 will see each other in ATL.
