With this lineup i would expect Bowers to play off the blocks more with Spencer working to post. Spencer doesn't really have an offensive game away from the basket but Bowers can catch it and drive.

The addition of Harris and Spencer will alone increase our ability to rebound and defend around the bucket.

I kind of expected Lang to start at the 2. While Dunans is much more athletic Lang is smart and talented in his own right. I think last year he was just lacking confidence.

Having Granger Purifoy Dunans Tahj Brown and Williams to come off the bench will be nice instead of Walkons

It is Bowers on D that is the concern.

Hopefully Harris and Spencer can provide good help D down low.

My biggest concern is finding enough point between that lineup to out score people.

I don't think Lang will ever have the mentality to be a 20 point a game guy. I believe Harris will be our go to for points with Canty getting 10-12 ppg. We'll need Bowers to get back on that double double streak and guys like Dunans / Granger / Brown / Tahj to contribute. If Lang could average12-14 that would be awesome

Losing 30+ pounds is the worrisome part about Bowers playing C to me. I like the improved athleticism aspect but it isn't enough to be a very undersized C

He's still 250. A lot of 7 footers aren't even 250 at college level. Reed for example. Bowers is also strong as an ox.

I wonder if Gus has already approached him about our TE position for 2016

I would not at all be surprised to see Bryce Brown starting at the two, but Bruce likes length, so I could see Dunans. Dunans definitely isn't a shooter though, so Lang would have to be at the three. It's just nice to have options. We haven't had that in awhile.

I don't see the season starting out like this at all. It is practice.. and they split up. Bruce, I imagine, is working on things that don't require a starting lineup. When the season starts, I feel like our starters will be..

1-Canty
2-Tahj
3/5-Harris
4-Bowers
3/5-Granger

With much more depth, and those starting spots change depending on who we play, who gets hurt or if/when one of our younger guys emerge as a leader.

It's easy to get excited about the newcomers but I feel they will be gradually worked into the lineup, maybe with the exception of Dunans because he is the only incoming player that has any experience, aside from Harris who is an immediate starter. For the first time in years, we should have a young but solid bench and will be able to push the pace more by hopefully having very capable backups.

Granger won't touch the starting lineup, at least not after 3-5 games. Especially not at the 3 or 5. He is too slow to play perimeter D and too skinny to defend the post. Granger also is below average on offense and a moron

We don't run a traditional C so Bowers & Harris playing 4/5 is very very reasonable

This is basketball not football. While our newcomers aren't "elite" and we probably are too hyped on them, but our returning players suck.

The returners that are going to start

Canty, TJ Lang and Bowers

All the others aren't nearly athletic enough to make it

He is a 1 not a 2, plus he is short for what Bruce likes to do.

I've seen some videos and pics from practice and it looks like Granger has put 10-15 lbs of muscle on. It should really help him put some power behind that right cross he likes to throw every now and then.

Wait is that a lineup where I see plenty of size on the floor? I don't know what that looks like....

Very excited about this team. I think it's a bunch that can compete for that bubble spot in the tournament. I also think we can run the full court defense Pearl wants to which should result in some fast pace fun to watch basketball. The real question to me is do we have a guy like Harrell that we can hand the ball late to in the game & say go win it for us. Will be interesting to see

Canty is supposed to be "the guy." Harris is that weird "Role player" type from his last team that will end up making a good argument for best player on the team

New Williams will be our "Dunk MasterFlex"

I just saw this fact on Twitter...

There is a home basketball game before the next home football game!

It is an exhibition though.

When do bball tickets get mailed out?

I know, but I can't wait to see this team hit the floor.

I'm hoping for a season equivalent to Bama's 2008 football season, but I'll keep my overall expectations conservative.

Will the exhibition games be aired on SECN?

I don't think you will see Bower, Harris and Spencer on the floor at the same time much. Brown is our best shooter so he will need to be in when Bower and Spencer are in.

When Purifoy is eligible, I am guessing based off people in the bball talking

PG- Canty
SG- Lang/Brown
SF- Purifoy
PF- Harris
C - Bowers

First Guys of bench
PG/SG - TSD
SF/PF/C - Horace Spencer
