@CecilHurt: Today's column on the ever-increasing outbreak of Tuscaloosa quarterback angst. LINK
quote:
Both of the contending quarterbacks, Blake Sims and Jake Coker, got equal time running the first offense. Neither did so at 100 percent efficiency. Saban used a word he has used a lot this month — “consistency” — and added another virtual synonym when he said the offense “never got into a rhythm” under either quarterback. He did note Sims, who has been at Alabama for four years, was “playing faster” than Coker. That isn’t unexpected, given the experience level. But what we were left with was a wait-and-see.
“Until somebody wins the job,” Saban said, “we aren’t going to make that decision.”
3. Some Alabama fans — not all — have been waiting 50 years for the next Namath, and some of those expect that prodigy to step full-blown onto the practice field and into Heisman Trophy contention. Yes, it can happen with a Johnny Manziel or a Jameis Winston (although both had redshirt years under their belt before starting.) But it doesn’t happen often. Nonetheless, the lack of a coronation ceremony worries a decent-sized segment of the fan base.

That was Phillip Simms and AJ. At least get your racial accusations accurate.

Cecil uses the example of Manziel and Winston but what Bama fans are really hoping for is a Newton or Marshall who can transfer in and provide immediate impact
Gus Malzahn has provided the blue print and Alabama is attempting to emulate it

Bama's defense is just too good, would make Tom Brady look like a freshman.

They need to change the name of these forums to AlabamaRant.com
All Alabama, all the time.
Half these guys don't even know what just happened in their own teams practice but can recite everything that happened yesterday in Alabama's.

It's what happens when your fanbase hypes a player to win two Heismans and he then he struggles in practice.

No, it's what happens when your team is by far the best in the conference, the standard bearer and biggest representation of footballing success.
Jealousy, envy, hate, etc... of course follows.
Every time I check the rant I see the first page half filled with Alabama type troll threads.

Yeah because Bama fans never troll any other fan base here.
No need to cry about it, it's just the internet bro.

Saban's comments are similar to what he said about Fall practice 2011.

1). No one is crying about anything, pointing out facts.
2). This site should be called AlabamaRant.com
3). I'm glad you guys are jealousy, envious and hate us. Shows we're doing it right.

I still can't believe that Nick has allowed the biggest joke in the history of NCAA coaches to get anywhere near his offense.
Not exactly what I would call a home run hire right there but hey, it's a process.

I've been trying to tell them they're going to suck this year.
