Process has only just begun. We're not near the end of this run yet.

When you lose your soul like Saban and Bama have, you start having down years. Success, corruption take hold. Then the program gradually declines as people realize Saban is losing the razor's edge. And he just holds on until it's pathetic like Bobby Bowden.
Bowden was still playing for championships into his 70s. I can live with Saban doing that, even if he hangs on too long.

I think he is just getting old......and possibly a bit senile. The OC hiring kind of points me in that direction.

Yeah, his better days are behind him.

I think 2012 was more of a down year, but there was just no one else having a better year. I think the 2011 Bama team would have kicked the 2012 Bama teams arse.

I agree. The 2012 team seemed very beatable, granted not many teams beat them
Just in comparison to other recent Bama teams.

Because SEC is a tough league with quality teams and Finally the breaks didn't bounce their way.

It was a down year. Why do the rest of the SEC members celebrate seasons like that?

Mediocre QB, inexperienced offensive line, depleted secondary. Saban's hyper-conservative philosophy doesn't mesh with that. Oklahoma got worked by them. I don't see how that whole program isn't embarrassed.

We had a chance to tie the game before the AJ sack fumble. We didn't get worked. Why would we be embarrassed?

The hiring of Kiffin almost seems like a built in excuse for Saban to use later on.
"What was I thinking when I hired that guy?"

Because while their down seasons consist of a losing record and no bowl game, ours consists of 1-2 losses and an almost guaranteed spot in the BCS/now CFBP.

It really wasn't a down year IMO.

The Auburn loss could be considered flukish...
The OU beatdown a letdown for them and the entire SEC.
After being rightfully shut up for so many years, now we all have to listen to Stoops' dumbass carry on about how the SEC was overrated all along.
Thanks a lot for that gumps...

lack of chemistry, team full of players who never had a meaningful loss, least experienced secondary since saban got there, really predictable playcalling on O and an inability to adjust to what was happening in the game.
And too many fricking fumbles.
Edit: damn iPhone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How does an 18 point comeback in a national championship game constitute a fluke?
